Battle for Azeroth is a solid follow-up to Legion that'll keep fans happy - if only for the new continents, War mode, and dungeons. Time will tell if the rest of the features will give the expansion the shelf life it needs.

As the millions of people still streaming into the game show, if Blizzard sees Battle for Azeroth as a struggle to keep our hearts and interest, it's clearly already won.

Battle for Azeroth may feel a bit safe in places, and a little bland in others – but the exciting elements are by far enough to overshadow these minor gripes

Battle for Azeroth is another try of Blizzard to keeep World of Warcraft players online. And it is not bad at all.

So far, World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is a solid addition to the long-running MMORPG. Currently, I am trying to increase my item level so I can be ready for the raid in a few weeks. The grind to do that is a long one, requiring a lot of time that not a lot of people have. It is the one crux of this game. When you start World of Warcraft, you have to stay committed. If you're serious about playing and want to enter the raid on the first day of release, missing just one day is a loss of progress. However, if you do commit and you have a group of people to play with, as it is right now, Battle for Azeroth has plenty of content for you to enjoy with a lot more to come.

Battle for Azeroth plays it safe, but that's ultimately its advantage. The true war will come and I'll be waiting impatiently. This expansion has a ton of potential that is still to be realized. And I'm sure Blizzard will do just that.

Faction politics are the backbone of Battle for Azeroth, but the real victories are the friends that you make along the way.

If you've completed the story there's still a lot to do in this world, of Warcaft. New dungeons with fun themes and locations are enjoyable to grind through and PVP is always a fun whether you're casual or hardcore. The world, of Warcraft is bursting at the seams with stuff to do. Don't Like PvE? Try Pet Battles. Don't Like Pet Battles? Try PvP. I'm a pretty casual player and the thing I enjoy doing the most is going back to old content and playing through it solo, for the first time.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is a good expansion with an interesting story on both sides, quests, new mechanics and game modes that relies too much on the achievements of past add-ons.

Battle for Azeroth is off to a solid start, but Blizzard has a lot to improve if they want to win the war.

All in all, Battle For Azeroth is in all things a true expansion to Warcraft; it is a continuation, a plateau for the game to simply continue existing.

In the end, Battle for Azeroth makes some great improvements in the levelling experience, but faults in its class design and the less rewarding Azerite system mean that overall, it takes too many steps back from Legion.

There are few games I love as much as World of Warcraft, which is why I'm delivering some tough love to Blizzard, which has a lot of work to do to set Battle for Azeroth on the right path.

Battle for Azeroth doesn't bring much else in terms of brand new content.

Unless Blizzard has some real story shake-ups and a phenomenally tuned raid on the horizon, I'm honestly expecting the sharpest player decrease to set in within the next few months. The expansion itself has some interesting ideas, but sticking to a World Quest grindfest is quickly becoming the norm, and the Island Expeditions aren't exactly exciting.

The greatest testament to Blizzard's design in this expansion is that it's worth wading through Battle for Azeroth's seemingly endless and frustrating grind, all in the hopes of helping your group of four friends push their keystone up one more level than you thought was possible — at least, for now.

Or will Blizzard just give us more of the same, because I am completely fine with that at this point. Stories so interesting I've defected to the Horde to make sure I get to enjoy them all? I guess I can live with that.

If Blizzard manages to keep up the momentum it has built here, the future's looking strong for the ruling monarch of the MMORPG. I'm not entirely sure who's looking at World of Warcraft after fourteen years and only now deciding to jump in. But if you are, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better time than right now.

Battle for Azeroth is off to a weak start. The new zones are beautiful, to be sure, but the climatic introduction cinematic and quests lead into a whole lot of cliché and not a lot of action. If the War has come back to Warcraft, well …I've not seen it.
