Just Cause 4 is the best entry in the series to date, offering spectacular free-wheeling destruction on a scale that's not been attempted before. Rico remains one of gaming's most enjoyable protagonists, but more than ever before, it's really all about what he's capable of doing rather than the events unfolding around him.
Beyond the occasional crashes and the visual flicker, the game ran fairly well with so many things happening on screen. I never noticed any significant slowdown, even with the game’s weaponized weather completely upending the area around me. At worst, there’s a slight framerate dip with massive rapid explosions, but nothing that impacted my gameplay experience. Overall, Just Cause 4 is a very entertaining package and its potential won’t be fully tapped for a long time.
Despite a few inconsistencies and missed opportunities, Just Cause 4 is still insanely fun and worth your time.

Just Cause 4 is a fantastic playground of chaos, giving players the tools and creative options to sow seeds of complete mayhem. It's only when you step away from that mayhem, following the path of the campaign put ahead of you, that you'll find repetition, lack of character, and a disappointing open world.

Just Cause 4 is a really engrossing game that makes you want to goof around. The amount of new toys will decide about the longevity of this game – players can unlock A LOT of them during their progress with the main storyline. Unfortunately, it also means that gamers have to complete a dozen of repetitive tasks. Despite that, it’s still worth it.
Although that said, even if the bugs and AI were fixed, it would still leave behind a version of Just Cause that barely changes anything you actually do since the third edition, yet has made every aspect of doing it so astronomically more annoying. What went wrong? How did such an established and entertaining series end up in such a quagmire? Gosh I’d love to know.
Just Cause 4 introduced some interesting new features that made the gameplay more fun and creative but at the expense of other stuff. It's an experience that you will enjoy but a one that you will forget the moment you drop your controller for the last time.

Other than laughter and the occasional satisfaction of seeing a crazy plan come together, Just Cause 4 doesn’t illicit much of an emotional response. It’s ugly, monotone, and almost feels incomplete. Even some of the character animations look lazy, as though the characters themselves are saving their energy for something. The game isn’t without its charm, certainly, but that charm doesn’t amount to much when it is marred by a plethora of other issues. Just Cause 4 approaches its potential, but doesn’t quite seize it. Considering how well the game performs at its peak, that is a real shame.
Just Cause 4 refuses to reinvent the series, but it still offers a thrilling, over-the-top ride for fans.
It's an improvement on the last game but as a franchise Just Cause is still squandering the majority of its potential with its banal mission design and dull storytelling.
Just Cause 4 feels old in its mechanics, but it is incredibly fun to play. The extreme climate effects, the hook, the parachute and the flying suit allow us to develop some crazy combat maneuvers.

Just Cause 4 is an enjoyable ride with a memorable and exciting campaign, full of thrilling gameplay moments. However, the rest of the game is a compilation of outdated mission design and poor technical performance. My advice: stick to the campaign for a fun fifteen hours and forget about everything else.
Should you join Rico in his newest mission? The answer lies in the kinds of game you enjoy. If you had fun with the prior titles, then Just Cause 4 delivers enough improvements to make it worth a playthrough.
The longer you play through it though, the more you’ll start to notice its cracks. The repetitive mission structure, bugs/glitches, and the lack of those fun weather moments during non-main campaign tasks are sadly noticeable. Just Cause 4 is a bit shoddy in some areas and is one of those releases whose fun factor depletes over time. It still provides a slew of entertaining moments, but not enough interesting takes on the types of themes that are starting to feel a bit played out.
A game with a lot of promise and not much else. Riddled with technical issues and visually underwhelming to the point of being barely playable.
Just Cause 4 is a wild and outrageous open-world game, and there are a lot of goofy and funny moments that worth cherish. But compared with its prequel, Just Cause 4 barely changed in terms of gameplay.

Just Cause 4 is a title that is worth experiencing for anyone who just wants to have a good time watching explosions and flying around a beautiful world.
