Far Cry New Dawn offers a solid gaming experience, full of vivid slightly familiar landscapes, a fun range of weapons and an appropriately crazy pair of sisters to go up against. Hours of entertainment are packed in whether you've visited Hope County before the nukes went off or not, with the easter eggs really great touches for fans of the series. However, New Dawn and the transformation of Hope County offered more hope on what the game could be. More could have been changed and surprisingly, given the epic craziness that was Blood Dragon, the insane dial hasn't been cranked up enough.

Far Cry: New Dawn is basically more Far Cry 5, along with all the good and the bad that such a prospect entails. If you're feeling a bit burnt out by today's established open-world formula and expect more from the genre, the game will end up feeling like more of the same as opposed to something truly new. If you absolutely enjoyed its predecessor, though, then New Dawn is more of what you loved with some needed narrative closure to boot.

Far Cry New Dawn suffers from clashing tones and cringey writing, but it offers some unique quests and a fun, chaotic wasteland to play around in.

New Dawn adheres to Far Cry's by-the-numbers open-world formula that's reaching old age. In other words, "It's a good one of those kind of games."

Neither the premise nor the execution of the setting and story ever justify the project, but for fans who haven't tired of the series' formula yet, you can't really go wrong with more of the same when it's well done. It's mechanically tight and often engaging while it lasts.

Whilst Far Cry New Dawn isn't a completely new experience, it does have a few features that give it new life, and despite the bugs and weak story, it was nice revisiting Hope County.

It's Far Cry 5 again, on a smaller scale and with a post-apocalyptic paint job.

Far Cry New Dawn is like a hamburger from McDonald's. It's tasty and satiating, but at the same time you know it's not the best you can get for your money. It's a decent spin-off, but it wouldn't hurt if Ubisoft didn't play it this safe next time.

Regardless of reusing the same map for a standalone title, Ubisoft Montreal still offers Far Cry: New Dawn plenty of diverse elements compared to its predecessor with a promising amount of fun in a short amount of time.

Far Cry New Dawn hardly reinvents its core formula, for better or worse. The expected bits are all there, peppered with a few low-impact RPG elements. This isn’t an evolution of the franchise, but rather a more favorable pairing of gameplay and setting than past releases. New Dawn sure feels familiar, but it definitely knows how to have a good time.

Far Cry: New Dawn is a great sequel to Far Cry 5. Length of campaign is shorter than Far Cry 5 and the map is the same. Overall New Dawn despite having some issues in storytelling and gameplay, still can be exciting and appealing.

Far Cry New Dawn serves as an excellent sequel to Far Cry 5, providing much of the same experience with new characters within a mutated environment. Much of the title focuses on optional objectives and building on the story of the previous game, with a set of great brand new antagonists. Far Cry New Dawn captures everything that made the previous game such a hit while ending the story on a high note.

Everything considered, Far Cry New Dawn doesn't offer enough and didn't use the potential behind the setting. The story elements offer enough for Far Cry 5 fans to deliver a decent ending but in every other aspect the game goes off into the wrong directions with uninspiring additions to the Far Cry Mix.
