Team Sonic Racing Reviews
It's no Sonic R, that's for sure, but it's certainly a great racing game. The new mechanics are fun to use, and the story mode feels more compelling for single-player than the Career modes did in the All-Stars games.
While I still have some concerns with Team Sonic Racing, I can't deny that I've come around to it. I've sunk over 15 hours, across several extended play sessions, and had quite a bit of fun doing so. The $39.99 launch price is more than fair for what's included here. If you're looking for an enjoyable alternative after playing Mario Kart 8 for the past five years, Team Sonic Racing smoothly drifts its way to a decisive silver trophy. Start your engines!
Team Sonic Racing is yet another fantastic kart-racer from Sumo Digital and SEGA.
In fact, if you feel like you just can't wait anymore for the next Mario Kart game, then you might as well give this little gem a spin.
Team Sonic Racing's co-op racing gimmick fails to elevate it above being an average kart racer, and its roster of racers feels lackluster compared to previous games.
The team mechanics put an interesting and unique spin on kart-racing, making Team Sonic Racing undoubtedly fun, but it's missing the magic that made Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed a firm favourite.
The soundtrack and the excellent design of teamwork contribute tons of fun to this game. But the sudden framerate drop on PS4 is annoying, and the existence of golden parts is nonsense.

Team Sonic Racing is a fun kart racer that stands on its own thanks to creative and well made team mechanics. Sadly the game is far from perfect and a poor track design prevents it from becoming one of the best in the genre.

Team Sonic Racing is a decent mascot racer, that chose to focus too much on the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The game sorely lacks in variety and can lose its charm once you try to dig more than skin deep. Sonic fans are sure to get a kick out of SEGA’s latest racer, but may feel there is a lot to be desired.
While Team Sonic Racing could have gone further in its ambitions, the game is worthy of praise for being a fun and enjoyable kart racing game, with plenty of well-designed and original gameplay mechanics. It's also another opportunity to bring together a series of characters of the Sonic universe, this time in the context of a team racing competition which works very well.

Team Sonic Racing has just enough characters that you unlock naturally through the game on enjoyable and vibrant tracks, while a good soundtrack plays in the background. Besides, while there is a bit of rubberband AI, it’s not nearly as bad as in the Mario sports titles. So, if you’re looking for a fun and enjoyable kart racer, you could do a lot worse than picking up Team Sonic Racing.
Team Sonic Racing uses an interesting team mechanic to shake up what is otherwise a pretty average arcade racing title. If you're really into the genre or have two dedicated friends to play with it might be a fun experience but you aren't going to get anything here you don't already have from somewhere else.
Sumo Digital has delivered a solid Kart racing game based on the Sonic brand. They have succeeded in creating a sense of speed with the races, providing a good amount of content for replay value, and an entertaining track design encouraging you to explore every corner for secrets.
Team Sonic Racing is Sumo's third race around the track with SEGA's flagship characters. It's not their best effort of the trio but because of the intriguing teamplay focus, it stands up as a worthy game for fans of the genre and families alike.
Those expecting a deep single-player experience to match previous Sonic racers won't get much to enjoy unless you have friends or family to join you in on the fun. Get a group of players to join you offline or online and you'll have a blast. It's made for a group of players, not for those who don't like sharing.
Team Sonic Racing is an entertaining arcade racing game. It is an above-average racing title that you will enjoy especially with friends. We can definitely recommend this one, but for longer gaming sessions, maybe look somewhere else.

As a full title, I would recommend Team Sonic Racing as a suitable counterpart to the Mario Kart games. It may not have the same pedigree as that series, but remember: Sonic and Mario are always going to be competitive.
GOOD - Team Sonic Racing is a fun alternative to other competitive racers on the Switch. It features bright and detailed graphics, easy to learn controls, and a cool team-based approach to racing not seen in other titles. It seems a little sparse on tracks and characters, but perhaps we’re just spoiled by MK8 Deluxe. It’s well worth the $40 asking price!
Team Sonic Racing offers a satisfactory experience. If you love Mario Kart 8 and want something on Xbox One, the game should satisfy you in the interim. However, you might want to wait for another, better game like Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
Team Sonic Racing is an exceptionally fun kart racer but it doesn't quite do enough to make itself great.
