NintendoWorldReport's Reviews

As an exploration of modern vampire life, it’s a gripping story, but it’s missing some things that would be needed to make it a better-playing game.

Besides that, playing Brain Training is a great start to the day. It allows me to mentally reset, try some hard-hitting challenges and get on with my day. For now and then, the Nintendo Switch version is rather ideally made.

Unscored - Pine
Nov 26, 2019

Pine feels like a very promising alpha, not a game that should be sold as finished. The presence of Pine on the eShop is baffling. While I earnestly hope it improves, I simply can't recommend it in its current form.

It's rough around the edges, specifically in the ridiculous faux-bad-ass story and presentation coupled with the restrictions on local multiplayer. The actual shooting has enough there that could make it a fun multiplayer game, but with so much of it hinging on the online play, I can't draw a total conclusion. I hope the weapon customization and upgrading can gel well with online multiplayer so that way Rogue Corps can transcend its issues and be a boisterous and enjoyable action game.

The content that’s in the game right now shows a lot of promise, but it is unquestionably missing some content that will make it feel fleshed out.

I look forward to the other modes, which an earlier datamine hinted at might be some sort of team-based mode, because those should hopefully enrich Tetris 99 even more as an offline experience. If you're not a Nintendo Switch Online subscriber, I can only recommend this if you're desperate for the Tetris 99 experience against computers. There are better, fuller Tetris games out there - even Puyo Puyo Tetris is a fuller experience (and comes with a whole lot more).

Between Joker, Mementos, Stage Builder, and Shared Content, the 3.0.0 update is the most excited I’ve been about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate since launch.

The feature set is sadly lacking, but data miners that dug deep into the game's code found evidence of new modes - team play and a traditional marathon mode - waiting to be added in the future. We'll likely revisit Tetris 99 sometime later when these features get added, but for now I'd still recommend downloading it and giving it a try. “Free” is a pretty tough price to beat, and given how many hours I've already sunk into the world's weirdest battle royale, I can still say there's a lot of fun to be had in what little Tetris 99 has to offer.

If you’re an Undertale fan, you already know exactly what you’re getting into with Deltarune. It doesn’t significantly change up the formula this time around, but I’m fine with that.

This is a fun, accessible fighter that casuals can jump into that also has depth that more seasoned fighting fans will appreciate. It's definitely worth checking out.

Mercenary Kings is a great time by my lonesome and we'll see how it performs online. If it does well, I think this could be the next big Switch online experience, up there with Mario Kart and Splatoon.

Although Nintendo originally published Culdcept Revolt in Japan, their 2017 dance card was full enough that NIS America was able to pick this up for the rest of the world. And I'm glad that they did, as it feels like a game that'll be a cult hit, but won't be a breakout hit.

All in all, it's really what you expect it to be. Most adults probably will pass up on this title, but if you want to share the Switch with a toddler and give them an educational toy on a rainy day, It's Spring Again delivers.

Long story short: these are the most ambitious sequels this franchise has ever seen. Are there problems? Of course. Am I pleased with the end result so far? Absolutely. Pokémon Sun and Moon is a refreshing rethought on what it means to play a Pokémon game.

I'll have more to say when I beat it, especially because these third-version games always seem to load the super-cool, crazy stuff into the back half. Right now, Pokemon Ultra Sun comes across as the same game as last year with a bunch of new stuff on top. I dig it.

As a single-player experience, Tri Force Heroes has its moments but playing through it solo is just a stark reminder of the game's multiplayer focus. At its best, single-player can be nice when you're trying to lock down a specific material for an outfit. But, if you're planning on getting Tri Force Heroes and playing it by your lonesome, I don't recommend it.

Jul 20, 2022

I have not been able to finish Coromon since I received the review code. But from what I've played so far, I've been very impressed. From these 8 hours, I think that the world and creatures feel distinct from the games that inspired and it left me with an excitement that I haven't felt since Pokémon Black and White. Not only the unique designs of the Coromon themselves, but mechanics like the potential-system and the way typings and skills work together sets Coromon apart from a simple ROM hack. There's also a large selection of difficulty options that can be adjusted to make the game play more like a Nuzlocke or an easy mode; you can even actually catch opponents' Coromon. The variety on display here is fantastic, so if you've been disappointed with recent Pokémon generations and are looking for a game that's similar but has its own identity, Coromon is absolutely worth checking out.

Champions of Vestroia is a total failure. If you're not already a Bakugan fan, there is absolutely nothing for you here. If you are a Bakugan fan, then you deserve a game that respects your time and passion more than this.

1.5 / 10.0 - Red Colony

Frankly, I'm not sure how anybody could look at this game and think it was ready for prime time. If the bugs weren't there, it might get by on its "so bad it's good" appeal, but in its current state, it's a disaster. Homie Rollerz, you finally have some competition.

1.5 / 10.0 - Energy Invasion
Jan 10, 2018

Energy Invasion is a bad game. It's currently the game I hate the most out of everything I've played so far on the Nintendo Switch. Outside of maybe the music, I can't name a single aspect that I liked about it. Most importantly, I felt worse mentally after playing it and that is simply the worst.
