9 / 10.0 - Duelyst
May 24, 2016

Duelsyt is a digital strategy game perfect for players who are looking for a little more depth and a lot less RNG. Besides the drawing mechanic, there are few aspects of Duelyst that rely on randomness. That, combined with a visible grid, finally grants players the control they've been looking for in a digital strategy CCG.

9 / 10.0 - Overwatch
Jun 17, 2016

As was to be expected from a Blizzard title that had much to prove, Overwatch excels in presentation with its overall production value, hero and map design. The beautiful, sharp and colorful graphics are accompanied by a heroic soundtrack composed by Derek Duke, Neal Acree, Sam Cardon and Cris Velasco. This is one great looking shooter with hot cosmetics and some fun hero dialogues added in the mix while keeping things real on the side of system requirements!

Kudos to Frontier Developments for bringing back a classic franchise and trying to realize it’s original vision with the technology to make it happen, but there’s unfortunately not enough here to look at or do. There is just the VR experience at this moment, but I’ve seen better utility of the Oculus Rift for more immersive and realistic experiences than this. The idea is sound, but the overall fun and enjoyment just isn’t quite up to par. Perhaps some TIE fighters and a Death Star is needed or anything else to help make this trip through space a lot less lonely.

8 / 10.0 - Reigns
Aug 19, 2016

Reigns relies on a combination of humorous wit and discovery to hook the player, and it is extremely effective at first. The frequency of discovery early on makes it genuinely fun experiencing new interactions. However, the simplicity of the game becomes its downfall after a while when challenges become more difficult and obscure.

6.5 / 10.0 - Naruto Online
Aug 21, 2016

I can’t say the gameplay in Naruto Online is original, but it is pretty fun.

The development team managed to bring the magic of TOS to STO: Agents of Yesterday in a big way. Not only do you get to use TOS models, you get to play with the old technology, interact with memorable characters, and explore TOS era ships.

8 / 10.0 - Livelock

If you enjoy twin-stick shooters and/or action RPGs then you’ll likely enjoy it. For the meager price tag, I definitely recommend picking it up and trying it out.

Episode 1 of Batman: The TellTale Series is well worth your time if you’re a Batman fan, and can act as a great way to introduce people to the character as well. Tweaking some of Batman’s traditional mythos and focusing more on Bruce Wayne makes the character more accessible to both new and old fans.

5 / 10.0 - No Man's Sky
Sep 14, 2016

No Man’s Sky is a victim of its own hype. The developers overpromised and under delivered. New content may well improve the game, but at least for this reviewer, the feeling of deflation after finally playing may be too much to recover from.

9 / 10.0 - Master of Orion
Sep 15, 2016

It plays much like any other great strategy game, and like I said, my biggest problem with it was the news interruptions that added very little to the gameplay and were just painful to watch.

Legion is everything it was promised to be and more; a part apology letter, part defiant challenge to any other games in the market thinking the old wolf was weakening. It is a love letter to its playerbase, to its most committed players, as well as the most approachable welcome to anybody coming back or starting fresh. It is the anti-Warlords of Draenor and, with the exception of FFXIV, the greatest comeback possibly in gaming history.

Destiny is a gorgeous game overall, and Rise of Iron’s frozen warrior aesthetic showcases this excellently. Felwinter Peak and the Plaguelands bring a sense of unforgiving chill, and the equipment that’s arrived with this expansion puts some medieval style in to the sci-fi world without feeling tacked on. Music, meanwhile, carries a similarly epic scope as powerful chorus arrangements and copious use of brass instruments make you feel like a true knight going to war.

In its current state I would even go as low as 5/10, but I feel that Eternal Crusade has a lot of potential. It is a fun game, and Behaviour Interactive wants to add in some really interesting features. While they won't be going for the MMO gameplay that many are expecting, they will have huge battlefields and a variety of areas players can fight for their faction.

8.5 / 10.0 - Evolve

Evolve is a great game in my eyes, especially for a free game. I had a lot of fun playing it. Though I enjoyed playing as a Monster, I much preferred playing as a Hunter.

4 / 10.0 - Crush Online
Oct 12, 2016

While Crush Online attempts to do a lot of things, it doesn’t do any of them particularly well. Combat overall is rather clunky, unresponsive and feels outdated. The PvE zones are bland looking and the PvP combat is repetitive. Given the choice, I’d rather play an actual MMORPG when it comes to PvE or a true MOBA for PvP.

6.5 / 10.0 - Syndrome
Oct 19, 2016

Syndrome is a fun, frightening reminder that space is a scary place. Being trapped on a spaceship is terrifying and isolating. However, it could be quite frustrating at times. I couldn’t play for extended periods of time because I don’t enjoy repeating objectives or areas over and over. That said, it was atmospherically wonderful. The visual and sound design alone make it a great game for horror fans, especially those with a love for sci-fi.
