Bounty Battle is not the celebration of indie game culture that I was hoping for; it is an embarrassment that should have been delayed.
Overall, I was disappointed in Song of Horror and while it may seem to try and get players to play through multiple times using different characters there just isn’t enough reason to trudge through the game again.
Dungeon of the Endless just isn’t great on the Switch.
There is a ton of potential in Dyschronia: Chronos Alternate but unfortunately, it lacks some of the best qualities that VR gaming has to offer.
I hope to see more game development from Walker and those that worked alongside him; I commend publishers like Another Indie that go out of their way to find these smaller projects.
Yomawari: Lost in the Dark desperately needs a health system or far fewer run-ins with ghosts that can instantly kill the player. Honestly, allowing the player to be scared but keep trudging through would be better to keep the tone and atmosphere consistent.
In different circumstances, Valkyrie Elysium could have been fantastic but now it will live forever as an oddity.
The puzzles rely on weird logic, the arcade sections are dull, and the courtroom-style quizzes leave a lot to be desired, making Yurukill: The Culmination Games a title that struggles on all fronts.
While providing a few innovations to the Breakout formula, Wizorb doesn’t push its mechanics far enough to escape an unfortunate level of tedium.
It is really cool that this rather obscure title has been ported to Switch and I do hope that this trend continues from NIS America. I just wish there could’ve been a couple more things tossed in to make this more appealing for a wider audience.
While a bit more critical of it, I do love that there are so many things here for RWBY fans. It has a lot of potential to do so many things in game form with the deep well of material to draw and build upon from the series.
Chasm is overall a good representation of the genre but it lacks elements that elevate above other titles.
Justice Sucks offers cheap fun and little else. There existed some potential here for a more in-depth and robust strategy game, but the repeating mission types and thin story failed to hold much of my interest.
All in all, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is fine enough and certainly a good representation of the Ghostbusters franchise. I just wish there was a bit more meat on these ghoulish bones.
Lamentum is like a salad, it is a fantastic idea with delicious bits in it like the combat and general sense of exploration. While not without issues, the game is still fun.
I was hoping for more content in Cotton Fantasy but I am excited to see the franchise be given new life through ports, remakes, and whole new games.
Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan has some areas that could use more consideration and improvement but it is a challenge worth attempting...Those who enjoy retro design should at least give it a try.
Forspoken feels like the first entry in a franchise that could show promise if compacted and polished in all the areas that matter. Square Enix has promised a major patch coming soon to address many of the visual and technical bugs, but this game needs a new narrative vision to really stand out.
I think that the developers really went for their vision wholeheartedly but I think that Inmost as a game could have been much better.
Kingdom Hearts III Re: Mind, while featuring some fun stuff and some of the better fights the series has to offer, is a minor addition to the base game set at a premium price. I would only recommend it to people who love Kingdom Hearts enough to experience and overcome everything a Kingdom Hearts game has to offer.
