Ride 5 is more than just a step up from its predecessors. Showing clear ambitions, the game deserves the title when it is referred to as the Gran Turismo of motorcycle simulations. Make no mistake, while it draws inspiration, it's no mere imitation. Ride 5 is truly an exceptional beast, forging its own trail in the racing gaming world. Many bike racing games are out there, but Ride 5 stands tall among them. It doesn't just compete; it contends strongly as the best bike racing game this year. In the podium for the genre, Ride 5 revs its engine to be at the top. Whether you're a pro at motorbike games or a newbie eager to explore, Ride 5 welcomes you with open handlebars. It promises and delivers an unmatched virtual motorcycle racing experience. If you've been on the fence about which bike racing game to get, Ride 5 comes highly recommended. While not perfect, RIDE 5 certainly has bags of potential. If you're willing to put in the time to get to grips with its punishingly realistic gameplay, then there's the reward of some truly exhilarating first person racing that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Ride 5 is not a huge, evolutionary leap from the last game in 2020. Instead, Ride 5 continues to refine and add depth, options, and polish to an already excellent racer. The continued lack of a thorough, step-by-step tutorial is puzzling. Ride 5 has options for inexperienced riders, but it’s clearly leaning hard into being an exacting motorcycle sim for fans of the sport.

I have to be honest, 3 years after the fourth episode I would have expected a more evolved fifth chapter and, instead, net of a decidedly more centered and engaging career, the competition against AI suffers from illogical behaviors that the player is forced to manage manually, while technically there is no current-gen quality leap that could be expected, without the ballast of a cross-gen development. At its best is always Ride, an almost unique game in the panorama of simulation racing and therefore a reference point for those looking for this specific type of experience. But here there is potential that goes far beyond the improvements expressed in this chapter, closer to those of an annual series than a triennial one.

Ride 5 is the first episode designed and developed for the consoles of the current generation: just a few kilometers on the track to appreciate the simulative cut and the commitment to accessibility (neural aids work).

Expected by many players after three years of waiting, Ride 5 may well disappoint with its low risk taking and its too great similarity to its predecessor.

RIDE 5 arrives to propose a new challenge on two wheels. A game that comes to delight everyone, from the most novices to the most experts, its wide collection of aids will allow even that person who has never touched a motorcycle game to have fun with this title. In addition, by disabling all these facilities, more experienced players will also have a good challenge on their hands.

Ride 5 is yet another impressive offering from Milestone. By focusing on the current generation of hardware, the motorcycle racer isn’t held back and is able to live to its full potential.

Ride 5 is not perfect, but it offers enjoyable in-game moments. We appreciate the work of the developers regarding the graphics, sound and animation. The graphics of the bikes is excellent and worthy of this generation of consoles. The soundscape is phenomenal. There is a good level of realism of the bikes and riders. The amount of tracks and bikes available is also excellent. Unfortunately, the driving model is not enough, it is imprecise, especially on the braking system, that makes some races really frustrating. A real shame for a title that, in our eyes, could really be the best of Milestone.

Motorbike racing fans will no doubt enjoy the bulk of what RIDE 5 offers. It's an improvement visually with excellent haptic feedback for PS5 players, and quality racing simulations. However, it may be a bit harder to convince newcomers or players content with RIDE 4 to spend their hard-earned dollars on RIDE 5 without a more expansive or engaging career mode. RIDE 5 lacks the push in great modern sports games to create more value for the fans behind simply simulating the sport.

RIDE 5 is as polished as they come with improvements in every way over its previous instalments, and the addition of a split screen mode is a brilliant feature! The learning curve may be steep but the gameplay is rich and rewarding for those with the stamina and patience to master the courses and each bike's respective handling.

Newcomers will struggle to get started in Ride 5, but returning fans are in for a treat. Although the game doesn’t have much going for it outside of career mode, Ride 5 still produces a great hardcore racing experience.

Milestone Studios has once again been able to prove its competencies in the development of a motorcycle game with a proper policy, and the release of RIDE 5 has taken the quality of motorcycle games in the video game industry to a new level in some areas. RIDE 5 is effective, addictive, exciting and enjoyable.

Although Ride 5 is simply an improvement on the previous title it manages to keep the level of quality, variety and realism high.

“Ride 5” is a great game for motorcycle enthusiasts, but Milestone still can’t find a good spot between realism and a more arcade approach. Most of its “innovations” will be seen and felt for those who dedicate their time to it. If you’re not willing to take part in 20 minutes+ races, then “Ride 3” is still your best option.

With spectacular sound, well-balanced gameplay and a highly addictive career mode, RIDE 5 proves to be a quality successor. Its weather technology compensates for the fact that the asphalt sometimes does not stand out in photo mode.

RIDE 5 reflects Milestone's great passion for the bike world very well. The amount of content, circuits, and bikes is admirable, the new Career mode is huge while the Race Creator further extends a longevity that shows no weaknesses, and lastly the bikes convey a truly satisfying feeling. Without any doubts, this is the best motorbike simulator in a long time, a must for all fans.

RIDE 5 sets the bar for motorbike simulation on a console in the same way that Gran Turismo 7 does for cars. In my view,  GT7 is this game's nearest neighbour, and that is good company.  The level of detail present here is admirable, not just in the high-quality visuals for the bikes and environments but also in the detail, the little things like the handling, the options available to tweak your experience and the like. It's clear a significant amount of effort, care and love has gone into RIDE 5 – this is not everybody's cup of tea by a long shot, but this is an impressive title nonetheless.

Overall, Ride 5 is a stunningly realistic approach to motorcycle racing simulations. It features immersive graphics and physics that can cause races to be simultaneously challenging and rewarding, while also providing some rider aids to help those who are struggling with the difficulty. The depth of content that is available with the various game modes will allow people to spend countless hours racing and playing around in their virtual garage decorating and tweaking their bikes. Anyone who is a fan of racing, particularly motorcycle racing, should absolutely give Ride 5 a try.
