Dragon Quest Builders is both a great Dragon Quest spin-off and an interesting take on the somewhat overplayed sandbox genre that’s only made better on Nintendo Switch. It’s a game that can be played for hours or in shorts bursts, so it’s perfect on a portable console. While the PlayStation Vita version certainly allowed portability too, the option to effortlessly swap between a TV and a handheld is perfect for this game. It admittedly doesn’t use many other features exclusive to the Switch, but the portability is benefit enough alone. Whether or not you’ve tackled Builders elsewhere, it’s found a perfect home on Switch.
Dragon Quest Builders is another solid block, building the Switch's amazing library.

Dragon Quest Builders has found its ideal home on the Nintendo Switch. The building and crafting game fits right in and can be a wonderful time, especially as a companion game to other activities. While the issues are still very present, there is still a lot of fun to be had which holds more weight for first time players.
Dragon Quest Builders combines action adventures with a minecraft-like sandbox with ease and manages to stand on its own feet. A funny, creative adventure for everybody that is sometimes a bit too simple but never gets boring.

Offering the perfect balance of comfy fun, Dragon Quest Builders allows you to kick back on your couch and get creative!
A serious contender to the Voxel Throne
It's great that yet another awesome Dragon Quest spin-off is now available for PlayStation 4.
Building and exploring are the most enjoyable parts in “Dragon Quest Builders” and developers create them wonderfully. I just wish controls were more convenient. Dragon Quest Builders is a Japanese version of “Minecraft” and entertaining players very well.

Dragon Quest Builders could be the start of a hugely successful spinoff from the main franchise, but it's going to need some refinement in the future to truly shine.
Fun for newcomers to the franchise and old fans alike.
A huge component missing from this game was multiplayer. Granted, this game benefited from focusing on a single player campaign, It can’t help but be felt like a major part of this game is missing by not letting 2 people work together to create something. One of the major reasons Minecraft is so successful is that anything is possible since people can work together to create anything they can think of. It seems like for now Square-Enix is content with dabbling in the genre, rather than redefining it.
Dragon Quest Builders is a splendid fusion between Minecraft and Dragon Quest. Instead of just roaming a huge world at your own will, you will always have a (mostly) clear goal to work towards and townspeople to pamper. There is still plenty of room for making your own creations, even though it is not on the same grand scale as Minecraft.

Dragon Quest Builders is an awesome experience and I truly hope that Square Enix makes more of these. They have many more Dragon Quest titles that can use or even just a sequel since this is a parallel world. If they could add one thing other than better inventory management however? It would be coop as this would definitely be better with a partner as Breanna and I have played this side by side for hours at a time and it would have been fun to help one another out instead of simply showing them where other things were or pulling out plans for them to emulate to level up their town faster.
Dragon Quest Builders is a superb game, appealing to both fans of the series and newcomers alike. Don’t think of this as a Minecraft clone, but rather as a good Dragon Quest game with crafting and building elements.
Half Dragon Quest, half Minecraft, all delightful.
Solid gameplay and simple storytelling give players a reason to keep coming back, simply put, Dragon Quest Builders is a game for those that enjoy structured creative freedom, even if that is an oxymoron.
