Planet Alpha Reviews
Don't be fooled by the pretty visuals: Planet Alpha's gameplay is terrible, the whole thing goes on far too long, and it's a hodgepodge of haphazard mechanics and encounters to the point where it's impossible to tell what the game was supposed to be.
"Graphics are two steps ahead of everything else."

Planet Alpha is a 2D platformer with great looks and not-so-great gameplay
Staggeringly beautiful at times, with some wonderfully imaginative art design, but this sci-fi oddity is a lot more entertaining to watch than it is to play.
Planet Alpha's arresting visuals aren't enough to distract from its disappointing, familiar gameplay and a meditative narrative that never takes off.
Despite an attractive veneer, Planet Alpha offers rote and shallow platforming. Try Playdead's Inside instead.
This game isn't bad, it's annoying. With moments of really solid gameplay peeking through maybe pick this one up on sale but otherwise there are better games doing similar things out there.
The universe of this game is one that could have benefited from a sense of atmosphere that's rooted in the past.
Planet Alpha is a game with great ideas and a not-so-good execution. Its puzzles are too simple and its platforming zones are almost inexistent, giving as result a mediocre gameplay. However, the incredible artistic level and good storeytelling can keep the experience afloat

Planet Alpha is an interesting experience. Its astonishing visuals and sound track are a treat, and end up making up for the limited gameplay, which has its moments.

Planet Alpha has the artistic mime of creators who have been macerating an idea for some time. They have not known how to take out all the points that allowed their potential, but nevertheless they propose a very interesting audiovisual experience that the palate of science fiction lovers will appreciate. .

While it never emotionally enticed me quite as much as games like Journey or Embers of Mirrim did, I still found Planet Alpha’s Pandora-inspired world a mesmerising and interesting place to explore.
It's Captain Planet meets Inside. You can't go wrong with a combination like that, surely.
Charming colorful adventure of the lost astronaut which can manipulate the time of day is a good choice for undemanding players.

A nice game that feels like an appetizer. You'll probably say 'if only' when you beat the game.

PLANET ALPHA is a gorgeous planet exploration game featuring a neat time manipulation mechanic that not everyone is going to enjoy. The game's presentation is top-notch, and the platforming and puzzle elements are fun, but the stealth sections are what might keep some from fully enjoying it.
Planet Alpha tickles our imagination with its tremendous beautiful visuals but fails to meet the same quality for its gameplay. It is a trippy otherworldly experience with some faults that prevent it from standing next to the other industry greats like INSIDE and Limbo.
Planet Alpha will grab the player's attention with its visually stunning environment, variety of backdrops and marvelous fauna. While the game's lifespan is rather short and the difficulty level could be more challenging, Planet Alpha has an accessible gameplay that all audiences can enjoy and is undoubtedly one of the best puzzle games of the year.

If PLANET ALPHA is not as good and powerful as Limbo or Inside, it is indeed a gorgeous game with some clever ideas. Without a word, it invites you to a Sci-Fi trip, with some great narration and mechanics, that you should not refuse.

Planet Alpha is an enjoyable sci-fi indie, one that is undeniably stunning and engaging thanks to a unique day-night dynamic and interesting puzzles. Its major downfall is the glaring predictability of the story, but most players will be over the moon with what this game has to offer.
