Total War: THREE KINGDOMS Reviews
Cold, hard battle strategy meets the warmth of human interaction and politics to create an engaging and addictive experience.
Despite its reduced scope from Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, Three Kingdoms still remains deep and engaging.
Total War: Three Kingdoms could have scraped by with minimal new features. Thankfully, it combines the Three Kingdoms universe with a bevy of compelling features and improvements to deliver a worthy follow-up in the series.
For Total War fans, there's lots here to enjoy. It's the best historical Total War game since Shogun 2, and one of the finest this series has seen thus far. However, for those drawn in by the bombast and spectacle of Total War: Warhammer, this game can feel flat by comparison.
Creative Assembly successfully combines Three Kingdoms with Total War, and using the brand-new Romance Mode, bringing us to that chaos times. For those who love Three Kingdoms or Total War series, this is no-doubt a must-try game.

Yes, Total War: Three Kingdoms takes the Total War series out of the fantastical and back into the history books, but I’m so glad they did, because Creative Assembly are great at what they do – bringing history to life.
A hugely enjoyable mix of historical realism and exaggerated action that is both surprisingly accessible and filled with an impressive depth of tactical options.
While the basic formula to Total War hasn't changed, Creative Assembly is genuinely impressive in the way that it manages to capture the subtleties of warfare in whatever era its depicting.
Total War: Three Kingdoms is undoubtedly one of the best Strategy Games you can play. The game features core mechanics of other Total War entries but it also improved many of older features and now we have one of the most complete games in the series. For example, the democracy system changed a lot and is now a lot more reliable. Nearly all parts of the game work in complete harmony with each other to deliver an amazing Ancient China Experience to you. Total War: Three Kingdoms is a game to recommend to every Total War and Strategy Fans.

Three Kingdoms is a striking addition to the Total War series with plenty to love, though it takes a slight dip in on-the-field tactical choice
Total War Three Kingdoms is one of the greatest additions to the franchise and the game that both new and veteran players have been asking for so many years.

The real power behind Three Kingdoms is its mastery of character building and immersion, putting explosive personalities ahead of bland empire building. Overall, it's a much-needed breath of fresh air for the series and a satisfyingly complex Total War game to boot!
Total War: Three Kingdoms melts me to even hate this brilliant failure of a masterpiece, the mesmerising visuals slash out all its shortcomings like sharp wind against a thin leaf, almost hypnotically, almost magically.
With interesting mechanics and breathtaking visuals, Total War: Three Kingdoms is the most impressive entry in the series to date. The research Creative Assembly have done on the game’s setting and characters truly shines through.
After several years, we finally have a true Total War experience in Three Kingdoms. Covering almost everything that a fan of strategy genre craves, Three Kingdoms is one of the most complete entries in the TW series and one of the best strategies in recent years.
