The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame Reviews
There are new mechanics and decent story, but also repetitive quests and eventless gameplay. So this in not very funny Lego game.

A fun game for kids and those who didn't lose their inner-children. It doesn't promise anything different from the previous LEGO games for other gamers.

The LEGO series usually is an enjoyable game to play. However, The LEGO Movie 2 - Videogame left all the charisma behind just to take advantage of the movie premiere.

Everything is not awesome. Everything is not even okay. Everything is just meh. Tt games haw finally done what a very vocal part of their audience wanted. They changed things. Drastically. And in doing so, they've taken such a huge step backward that this feels more LEPIN than LEGO. A heavily flawed shell of what the franchise had become.
It's sad how this Lego game is completely devoid of the unique humor and style which made previous Lego games so enjoyable. This personality and flair, which has been a staple of the Lego video game brand, being absent from this latest title is disheartening. I'd recommend avoiding The Lego Movie 2 Videogame unless you have to play absolutely everything Lego. Even then, there are just much better games in the series that deserve your attention.
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame brings a long-overdue revamp, but everything's not awesome
It would have delivered a far more solid experience, but the same old gameplay and bugs didn't make it get to the point.

There's just not much to The Lego Movie 2 Videogame that stands out as original. The core mechanics are mostly sound, but the rehashed movie story is told in a disjointed, unappealing fashion, and most of the things the game does well were done even better in previous games in the series.
This fun game is a great addition to the LEGO collection of games. It's not my favorite game (will anything ever beat LEGO Star Wars?) but it's well made and entertaining. The mix of exploration, sandpit and story elements makes it feel fresher than recent LEGO games. Plus it's just plain cool to walk around as Emmet or Wildstyle while talking to the likes of Batman and Unikitty. It's worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of the movie.
Not the game I was expecting but a neat game regardless
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame might seem like business as usual, but it's the addition of sandbox bits, the slew of items and gadgets, and the emphasis on exploration and puzzles that make TT's latest LEGO foray a cut above. Everything is (relatively) awesome.
Keeping in mind the target audience and the price point, the Lego Movie 2 Videogame presents a game worth considering for fans of the movie, Lego, or casual, family-friendly play.
LEGO The Movie 2 Videogame is a good game and that serves to expand the experience if the movie you liked enough. With everything and its narrative and technical problems it becomes quite entertaining and something that can be enjoyed in family from the smallest to the largest. A twist to the original formula that does not end up curdling but we hope to lay the foundations for what is coming.

The LEGO Movie 2 tries to mix things up a bit by using ideas from LEGO Worlds but is dragged down by its repetitive gameplay loop and its technical issues. Only young kids who enjoyed the movie might get something out of this game unfortunately.

A new twist on the old formula, The LEGO Movie 2: The Video Game offers up some new mechanics and gameplay but fails at delivering an experience that is either memorable or fun
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame sits in a weird place between licensed LEGO adventures and a “create-your-own-world” style LEGO game like, well, LEGO Worlds. It’s half of each game, but the two halves never manage to make a whole.
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame isn't the groundbreaking reinvention the franchise so desperately needs, but it's still a step in the right direction.
The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame features some moments of fun and it's an accessible game for players of all backgrounds...but the game doesn't really fulfil its mission: due to rather empty, dull worlds, few common points with the movie and technical issues, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is nothing short of a big disappointment.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is clearly inspired by LEGO Worlds. It's easy to play and with a good amount of contents, but lacks in variety and it's way too easy.

As someone who was so genuinely moved and inspired by The LEGO Movie 2, it breaks my heart to see that the game was rushed to market and clearly the developers weren’t given the resources to properly respect it, or its audience.
