From its graphics to the gameplay, Ion Fury is everything I wanted and more in a bite sized 90mb download. Ion Fury does not rely on nostalgia alone and instead takes the charm of classic FPS games and pushes the boundaries of what can be done, creating a new standard for retro games going forward.
If you are a fan of Total War or Warhammer, I do not think I can persuade you from buying this DLC, if you’re someone who is more on the fence and already owns the Warriors of Chaos, you could wait until a sale to pick it up without missing much.
Volition tried so hard to move away from its edgy past and create a “smart” game with “biting” social commentary and humor but ended up creating a high-school-tier world that is doomed to fail. While I do not feel like this game is soulless per se, I do feel like anyone who worked on this game who has a soul should feel guilt over driving that final nail into the coffin of the Saints Row franchise. The funniest joke about Saints Row is that Epic was actually willing to pay money to make it an Epic Game Store exclusive.
As it stands now, Kill la Kill IF is no where near worth buying for anything nearing full price.
At this point do I believe that MachineGames can make another good Wolfenstein game? Honestly, I do not know, even with the help of a talented studio like Arkane, they were up able to learn from their previous mistakes. Honestly, Wolfenstein fans deserve better than what they got here and that is saying something.
It genuinely upsets me, not as a critique, but as a fellow gamer that this game turned out the way it did.
The most irritating thing about Caligula Effect: Overdose is that in spite of me having been critical of it in my review, the fact that I did not enjoy it, or that I struggle to think of any positives, the game feels so middle-of-the-road that giving it any lower of a score would just feel unfair.
Homefront isn't really a terrible game, and if you're a diehard fan of Red Dawn or Far Cry, I'm sure you'll find something here for you.
Perhaps some of the issues I have with the game will be patched or fixed some time down the road, but from where I stand now, there are simply better games in this genre to play.
One Piece: World Seeker is an incredibly ambitious game, and one that I have an immense amount of respect for, even if I personally did not enjoy it.
ArcheAge Unchained is a fun, bizarre, and honestly, pretty niche MMO that still holds up in all the most important ways. Now that it is no longer weighed down by scummy monetization, I would say that this is the time to give it a try.
There is a lot of potential in Dead or Alive 6 because at its core, I think it is a fine fighting game, but there are forces, both internally and externally that have and will continue to harm the game’s growth and community.
If you are looking to play a Final Fantasy game for the story, you should definitely skip Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin. But if you are looking for a fun action game with fun monster designs, Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin would be the game for you. Maybe we will eventually see a sequel, perhaps a retelling of Final Fantasy 2? That would be pretty awesome, don’t you think?
River City Saga: Three Kingdoms is a really fun game to play beat-em-ups or like the Three Kingdoms era. It’s take on the history and the novel were funny, with almost all the jokes being on point. It was just a good time from beginning to the moment I set my controller down. I think anyone who tries this game out will enjoy it.
While I don’t believe that this is the first step in the revitalization of the franchise, and doubt we’ll see a new Super Monkey Ball game any time soon, it’s still awesome to see this game come back to life for people like myself who never got into the series back then.
Code Vein has incredible promise and I hope that it sells well enough to warrant a sequel because the issues that I do have with it can easily be solved. I honestly believe that Bandai Namco has something big on their hands here. I can only hope that the future holds good things for Code Vein.
The artstyle, playstyle, music, and dedication that was put into the project speaks for itself. With such a low price-tag, there is very little reason to not give Unruly Heroes a playthrough of your own, be it solo or with friends.
I honestly did enjoy my time with Onimusha: Warlords, so much so that part of me wishes that I could have played through the franchise when I was younger, perhaps I may have been more tolerant for the control scheme.
