Tchia has heart, a beautiful world, and some cool gameplay concepts. The story is filled with emotion but also grounded. Exploration is easy and rewarding, with a lot of great sights to see and interesting characters to interact with. Even the ukulele mini-game associated with musical numbers works.

With minor technical adjustments to be made, Tchia is a true masterpiece in all its aspects, which together allow us a journey through the rich and still unknown culture of New Caledonia. With solid and light gameplay, captivating graphics, mesmerizing music, and a subtle and delicate narrative, it is a simply delightful game.

Tchia's ambitious ideas and brightly textured open world come together in harmony. Despite an air of familiarity, there's simply nothing else like Tchia, and I have no doubt it will be high on my game of the year list.

Tchia is a full-fledged game that achieves (almost) all of its objectives with flying colors. In the archipelago, there is a lot to do and find, but it is also a place to just enjoy, walk around and explore. And what a stunning place! Make sure you immerse yourself in the world and in the shoes of the many animals you can incorporate, then rest up playing the ukulele and observe the details of cultures that seem far from ours, but that can still reach the world.

Tchia is a remarkable journey with lovable characters and gross villains that deserves the attention of every fan of action-adventure games with a twist. Soul-jumping is an addition in both senses of the word, a treat that is hard to ignore and that has the ability to distract us from the main campaign. Were it not for a certain feeling of ennui that sets in during the factory missions, it would be an almost flawless game that is way more daring than it may seem at first. Tchia comes out absolutely recommended for anyone who is looking for a fascinating adventure with a couple of original twists, with the bonus of some truly striking tropical vistas. This is a game brimming with soul – actually, make that souls.

Tchia drips with joyful, explorative fun. The idea of letting players loose in an interactive sandbox is a goal that has been chased by developers since video games began. Few truly give you the freedom to frolic in a virtual playground, and though Tchia is not without its shortcomings, it’s a rare instance where the temptation to just play in the digital world is rewarding at just about every turn. The tone, the music, and Tchia’s abilities all come together to create something that is simply fun, and it all takes place in a setting that demands to be explored.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

Few open worlds offer an experience as unique and distinct as Tchia, a game with a personality as overwhelming as its own world or the mechanics it proposes. Even with its flaws and technical aspects that can be improved, it is a game that deserves a chance, as soon as you go to the games in the open world.

Though it has its flaws, Tchia is one of the best open world games I've played in a long time. The variety of things to do in its gorgeous world will keep most any player occupied for the duration of their playthrough, and will almost certainly leave them glad they gave the title a chance.

Tchia is like diving into a warm, clear ocean. You can see so much that’s amazing around you, a whole world you want to be part of and can feel immersed in by doing nothing more than looking. It’s not going to occupy you for hundreds of hours, and it’s not going to revolutionize games as we know them, but that’s okay. If you let it, this experience can enrich your life in ways few things can.

Tchia is a highly enjoyable and varied coming-of-age adventure game with a ton to see and do. The possession mechanic is a ton of fun, the sights and sounds are undeniably attractive, and it has a good dose of dark humour to top it all off.
