Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition Reviews
If you've got the DOOM reboot then I heartily recommend you just go and play its Arcade Mode instead. This was added as a free update back in October last year, and it's everything you want from a score-attack shooter and then some. Failing that, and if you've never played Bulletstorm before, then it's worth a play-through should you spot it at a deep discount further down the line.
Sadly, much of Bulletstorm gets in its own way.
The remaster itself, tragically, is really quite good. It runs beautifully in 4K at a smooth 60 frames-per-second, with characters and environments that still look striking today. Aside from some occasionally buggy ally A.I., it's polished up nicely, and I wish I could say it was worth rushing out to buy.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a really fun first-person shooter, but I do not find there to be full value in what's on offer here for a several years old game. And really, the game's main issue for me is that the dialogue and writing have not aged well and it just comes off really insensitive and dumb in ways that may have worked in 2011, but just doesn't in 2017. The improvements, while mainly graphically still make for an exciting shooter that has yet to be repeated in the years since its original release, and Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is worth a replay if you can wait for a sale.
If you're a diehard FPS fan looking for something new, or just someone who'd like to revisit Bulletstorm, I'd absolutely recommend adding Full Clip Edition to your collection.
Bulletstorm is a nice little 8-hour time-sink where the player has to never think and can just go about blowing people to bits. Sure, it hasn't aged well but the combat side works fine and there's a bit of replayability if one wants to attempt to get every Skillshot, or try to see how far you can get with a couple of friends in the wave-based multiplayer mode. However, it is certainly a shame to see such little effort put into this new release even though it is perfectly OK.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is an action game that is fun in the moment, but is quickly forgettable thanks to a poor story, one-note characters, and mixed visuals. While the actual gameplay itself is incredibly enjoyable, there just isn’t enough new content to justify this game’s existence.
This is a game that's pretty much wild from the get-go, it's fun and does well enough to bring out a sadistic aspect in you or if you're a masochist you could always imagine yourself as the enemy as you find new ways to slaughter them. So if you're the type that likes going in ready to annihilate your enemies in a grisly manner, then this game is for you. Although the price may have you thinking otherwise.
It isn't the best shooter ever, but Bulletstorm offers fun arcade FPS action with a surprising amount of creativity to the combat. Now if only I could creatively kill its annoying dialogue...
Thankfully for many people, Bulletstorm's re-release is a chance to check out a title that wasn't exactly a hit the first time around. It's a cool little game that pokes fun at a lot of what is wrong with AAA First Person Shooters, and a lot of it is still relevant today.
Even six years after its original release, Bulletstorm is still a wickedly fun shooter whose greatest strength is its skillshot system. With it, the combat becomes not just fun, but also quite creative, since it rewards players who think outside the box in regards to killing enemies. Fortunately, the story, minus its cliff-hanger ending, is surprisingly good, considering it could have been only a paper-thin plot for which to hang the gameplay on. Although the title does lack replay value and the extra modes won't hold one's interest for long, the core meat of the game is its biggest, and greatest, strength.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is an unsatisfying remaster of an excellent game. Everything that made Bulletstorm a delight has been faithfully replicated, and the game runs extremely well. It's still one of the most enjoyable shooters in the past decade, and it's aged remarkably well. At the end of the day, it's about as bare-bones of a remaster as they come, but it still bears the price of a brand-new title. That's difficult to justify when the original is available for around $5 . If price is no object, Bulletstorm is still a top-notch game, but otherwise, it's probably better to wait for a price drop.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition doesn't offer a great deal of new content, but new visual polish and the quality and fun of the original game means that the package holds up well.
Bulletstorm is back and it is still as ridiculous as you remember. The Skillshot System provides an awesome challenge for FPS players who want something a little different than your typical military shooter.
Remasters are part of this generation whether we like them or not. Bulletstorm is a game perfect for this trend as a lot of players likely missed it the first time around. The addition of Duke Nukem and all the DLC is nice, but the sticker shock is real. This is the kind of game that would have done much better with just a little lower price of entry.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition brings back a mixture if beautiful visuals and fast-paced first-person gameplay that we're rarely treated to. The Duke Nukem add on also works surprisingly well too, with Duke's dialogue working well alongside Bulletstorm's blend of phallic jokes and crass humour, even if he does look out of place in the game's cutscenes. It's a decent remaster that could have been improved further with an updated control scheme, but whether with Grayson or Duke, this is still some of the best FPS gameplay in recent times.
If you only ever experienced the original on consoles, though, Full Clip Edition might be more enticing. It speeds up the framerate, includes all the DLC, and even provides an insane new way to experience the campaign. Whether or not Duke adds to that is yet to be seen, but at least the main package lives up to its title.
Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition doesn’t change the game a whole lot. Which is pretty much what we expected, although it is still fun and entertaining. If you want a mindless bloody, expletive filled game that is great when you are tired of Call Of Duty or sports titles, than this is the game for you.
If you've never played the original, this is a good time to play the game since you will be treated to its enhanced visuals. The story is little to be desired but the game shines with its gameplay. The chaos and the carnage it bring is just so entertaining that you wouldn't really mind about the story at all.
When it comes to raging, throbbing, murder boners, no one can compare to The King, Duke Nukem.
