Resident Evil 2 Reviews
It's this combination of exploration, puzzle solving, and action that makes Resident Evil 2 a treat to play. All of these distinct gameplay elements come together in a natural, organic fashion that works well.
As I mentioned at the top, every now and then there comes a game that defines a genre, a game that people remember fondly many years later. I feel that RE 2019 is one such game. To me, it belongs on the prestigious list of "perfect remakes", just like Resident Evil: REmake did before it, replacing the original as the definitive experience. If you're in two minds about the game, don't be - it's a return to form for the series and a shining example of what survival horror is supposed to be.
It’s a love letter to survival horror, delivered direct like a bullet to the head.
Resident Evil 2 has been reborn and retooled in all the best ways possible. This is the best video game remake that other modernized classics of its ilk should be judged by.
Put simply, this re-imagining of Resident Evil 2 is everything a Resident Evil fan could ask for, taking the series back to its roots without feeling old. It is single-player survival horror at its finest, and quite possibly the best Resident Evil game ever made.
Packed with nostalgia, new challenges, complex and deep gameplay that doesn't just adapt but embodies the genre it's inhabiting, and a AAA presentation that blows every previous RE out of the water — yes, even REmake — I feel confident in this assessment: As it was in 1998, so to shall it be in 2019. Resident Evil 2 is the best Resident Evil game ever made, full stop.
Capcom blew us away 20-years-ago with Resident Evil 2, single-handedly redefining what the term “survival horror” in many ways from gameplay mechanics and fleshing out Shinji Mikami's (Resident Evil 4) ideas in of the best sequels in video games — expanding upon ideas which came before. And the reimagined version celebrates that rich history while bringing new ideas to the table. Creating in my opinion, one of the best gaming experiences in a decade. The return to strong item management, survival and tense gameplay still works wonders. Level design alone is beautiful. Making for a fun experience for even long term “Resident Evil” fans.
Resident Evil 2 is out now for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Interested? Why not pick up the game through us?
Resident Evil 2 (2019) is not just a great present for the fans of the original, but perfectly modern survival horror game, which blends old and new on the unbelievably high level.

Resident Evil 2 on PlayStation in 1998 was one of the most enjoyable survival-horror games ever released. The remake continues that tradition and improves on all the aspects that made it great and the result is what could be the best Resident Evil ever made. It may even be the best horror title ever made just going by the sheer level of craftsmanship and detail. Is it the scariest? It is scarier than the 1998 original, but on current platforms such as PlayStation 4 one would be hard-pressed to find anything that's even half of its calibre. This is one that keeps on giving; highly repayable and full of interesting ways to keep playing, even after completing two campaign variations.
Yes, Resident Evil 2 Remake is stacked with content, and so highly replayable that I completed both Leon and Claire’s 1st/2nd runs along with 2 other playthroughs because this game is that good! I’ll be shocked if this game DOESN’T end up as my Game Of The Year 2019.
This isn’t only the best title that’s come out of the Resident Evil series, but also one of the best games that Capcom have ever released. Whether you’re a fan of the original, enjoy horror games in general, or just appreciate a finely crafted video game, Resident Evil 2 is one title you simply do not want to miss out on. Raccoon City is back and it’s never been more impressive…
It’s not a remake, it’s a brand new game and a fantastic one at that. Resident Evil 2 2019 is one of the best games of this or indeed any generation as it combines visual and audio mastery to produce a paranoia-inducing game that isn’t matched by many.
It deserves to the be held in as much esteem as the original. Cast any doubts aside, and pick up what is unquestionably one of the best third-person survival horror games to hit the market.
An almost perfect trip to Raccoon City shows what remakes have to look like. Now please take a look at the remake of the third part!

I’m always reluctant to throw around high praise and label games as the best the genre has to offer. Games tend to be overhyped on release and then the love dies down over a few months and you end up looking a little stupid. Here’s the thing though, Resident Evil 2 really is that good. It actually is genre-defining. It is one of the best triple-A experiences I’ve had in years and it will be in contention for my game of the year. You can believe the hype this time. Resident Evil 2 is phenomenal.
Not only it evokes nostalgia for game veterans but delivers much more to remember it for a long time.
The stunning graphics, incredible survival horror combat and wonderfully eerie setting make picking up a copy of Resident Evil 2 a no-brainer.
The amount of content goes above and beyond, offering much more than the original game ever did. Before The Ghost Survivors DLC, this may have been a 9.5, but now, as an even more complete package, Resident Evil 2 deserves the highest honor as a solid contender for "Game of the Year".
Graphically, Resident Evil 2 is atmospheric and breathtaking.
