Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is definitely worth trying for once and it's that good for you to want to finish the game with the same ambition that got you started; but be aware not to be deceived by its action combat because Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition is not a western ARPG game that only relies on your ability to click on enemies and it's full of JRPG elements. So if you don't have a problem with spending long hours in menus to plan your strategies and modify your characters and also looking for a great story with Japanese theme, this game would be your best pick.

The extra characters/party members, skits, battle abilities, and costumes do a lot to endear itself to those in the know and those who want to experience it for the very first time. The lack of quality of life improvements hamper the experience a bit for current-gen gamers, but Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition still maintains the lofty praise the original version garnered in years past.

Tales of Vesperia rightfully holds its reputation as one of the most surprising JRPG experiences out there. With a wonderful cast of colourfully fleshed out characters, this adventure is one that you won't soon forget and will be happy that you embarked on it. The start is still slow and the decision to use a new voice actor in new scenes is pretty jarring, but once you get over that and allow the game to spread its wings, you're off to paradise.
