I don't care what anyone else says, The Lego Movie 2 Videogame is a ton of fun.

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame is considered a step backward in all aspects, from previous versions of the series or even the first version of The Lego Movie. As a fan of the Lego titles, The Lego Movie 2 Videogame is by no means acceptable to me. The experience of playing with a younger sibling can be a bit of fun, but the overall value of the game is extremely low.

The Lego Movie 2 Video Game is not the best Lego game that we've ever seen, but it could be much fun if you are interested in these type of games. If you have a child or looking for a good game based on animations, The Lego Movie 2 is a nice choice to pick.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame isn't the groundbreaking reinvention the franchise so desperately needs, but it's still a step in the right direction.

A new twist on the old formula, The LEGO Movie 2: The Video Game offers up some new mechanics and gameplay but fails at delivering an experience that is either memorable or fun

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is a funny and crazy game in which we will play with many of the characters from the movie to complete it. We will jump from world to world making constructions and fighting against all kinds of cute monsters that will try to take us to a world of pink's color.

That’s the crux of The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame. It is little more than a curated version of LEGO Worlds with the procedural generation removed and quests strung together to form a semi-coherent path through the loose beats of the movie plot. While this does divorce itself from the formula that TT Games have used for 14 years, delivering on the change that many have called for for years, it’s sorely lacking in the kind of whimsical charm, comedy, quest variety and purposeful design that the series has become famous for.

A cheap and nasty film tie-in that reaches a new low for Lego games and stands in stark contrast to the creativity of the movie and the toys.

WORTH CONSIDERING - I give the developers credit for trying some new gameplay ideas, but they mostly failed at creating a funny narrative and worlds that are fun to explore. I was never wowed by anything in the game, and that’s a shame. Still, the co-op can be fun and the game did release at a reasonable $39.99, making it worth considering for younger gamers.

There's just not much to The Lego Movie 2 Videogame that stands out as original. The core mechanics are mostly sound, but the rehashed movie story is told in a disjointed, unappealing fashion, and most of the things the game does well were done even better in previous games in the series.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame is an adventure best taken on your own terms. It’s a fun and imaginative experience that is at its best when you are collecting every character, item, and Master Piece in the game. The only things that hold it back are the long load times and the existence of previous MORE expansive titles in the LEGO Videogame franchise. So, while not everything in this game is awesome, it’s a journey I’m glad I made.

Overall, The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame serves as a fun romp through different space systems with some familiar characters.

There's nothing you've not seen before in The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame -- unless you haven't seen the film yet. This is largely a by-the-numbers LEGO platformer with a variety of open levels in which to find collectibles and solve simple puzzles. The low difficulty makes this perfect for children to play with friends or family, and the sandbox area will let you get a little creative too. It's a safe entry in the series that fans will enjoy, but if you're getting tired of the same old formula, there's not much new to see here.

It would have delivered a far more solid experience, but the same old gameplay and bugs didn't make it get to the point.

After the mediocre effort of Lego Incredibles and the familiar, but largely entertaining, offering of Lego DC Villains, The Lego Movie 2 attempts to merge two worlds but fails quite considerably. For the younger members of the family, Lego Movie 2 is a simplistic, entertaining and well-rehearsed Lego game with less bugs and a better aesthetic compared to Lego Worlds. Sadly, the lack of a compelling narrative, interesting missions and a repetitive gameplay loop makes The Lego Movie 2 a really poor offering in comparison to other Lego games. It’s not terrible but it is a far cry from what we’ve come to expect from this studio.

As someone who was so genuinely moved and inspired by The LEGO Movie 2, it breaks my heart to see that the game was rushed to market and clearly the developers weren’t given the resources to properly respect it, or its audience.

The Lego Movie 2 Videogame is a solid game that uses a classical formula to succeed, taking no risk and so lacking in innovation.
