Layers of Fear 2 Reviews
Layers of Fear 2 excels as a horror game and a mystery story, with excellent worldbuilding and plenty of creepy moments throughout
Layers of Fear 2's cryptic story is filled with film references and well-earned scares, making it the perfect digestible game for any horror buff.
Even though both Layers of Fear's stories are not linked, this sequel follows up the style of the original game. All the horror comes from the peculiar stagings and visuals used by Bloober Team that cause a constant sensation of anguish. Also, the different "homages" to several movie classics are a great classy touch.

Layers of Fear 2 provides an atmospheric horror story that uses scares to its advantage. Despite some buggy mechanics, the game contains beautiful and haunting visuals, varied gameplay, and satisfying plot elements incorporating classic films.
Layers of Fear 2 is an unnerving and memorable descent into madness that reminds us why Bloober Team are the masters of first-person psychological horror.
Layers of Fear 2 may not be the quintessential horror-puzzle spookathon, but it's certainly a thrilling, claustrophobic ghost story that easily holds its own. It's at times uneven, and the puzzling isn't as interesting as the backdrop, but for sheer storytelling prowess alone, it's definitely worth setting sail on this ghost ship.
The Layers of Fear 2 is undoubtedly one of the most frightening titles that have been released in the last few years, when most of the titles are similar. The experience of a different game that tries to affect the player through psychological and internal fears can be very exciting. But the new elements of the gameplay are not so perfect, and with all the efforts made by the creators to make a balance between their own style and keeping the game entertaining among today's games, they still could not do it well enough, and in the final stages, these elements are completely out of balance

Layers of Fear 2 is a brief, electric bolt of terror, a game that begs to be played in the dark and on the biggest screen possible and with a pair of sound-canceling headphones.
Though its conclusion may perturb thanks to some obtuse storytelling, Layers of Fear 2's unconventional and artistic approach to horror make it a real gem of the genre.
Layers of Fear 2 goes up and down like a ship during a storm in the sea. There are evident falls in the gameplay and in the way the story is told and displayed. Even if is really hard for some players to catch the spirit of it, the general experience is still worth t be lived. The level design is rich of really clever solutions, the setting is dark and with a strong identity. The sounds effect are excellent, telling places and characters in a unique way. Layers of Fears builds frame by frame a cinematic view, following rules and style of the horror symbolism.

Overall, Layers of Fear 2 was an enjoyably terrifying experience. Picking out all of the different film references led me to really enjoy the game and continue playing to see if I could pick out any other references.
Layers of Fear 2 is a sequel that manages to improve in many aspects its predecessor. Disorienting exploration, puzzles and escape phases blend perfectly, offering a first-rate playful offer to all players who love horror narrative experiences without hesitation. The sad story in some aspects and terrifying for others embellishes an indie product that has little to envy to "major" productions.

Layers of Fear 2 has a great atmosphere, but it's muffled by choppy controls and confusing narratology.

Layers of Fear 2 is a surreal journey packed with fear and existential dread. Everything from the environment to the music, Layers of Fear 2 is an experience that is frightful, thought-provoking, and disorienting (in a good way). Granted, it doesn’t always hit every note; however, the decision to port it over to the Nintendo Switch is certainly a most welcome one.
In conclusion, Layers of Fear 2 is a worthwhile experience, and even more so if you consider the launch price of $30. I can’t say I found it as thought-provoking or chilling as the first Layers, but it’s still pretty solid. The story, writing, sound design, much of the game design overall really, outlasts the lesser, but still very significant, flaws of the game.
Layer of Fear 2 is the dramatic descent into the lost mind of an actor that has to find himself, a compelling story about violence and abuse.

Layers Of Fear 2 is an extremely gripping first-person horror game that can keep players engaged from beginning to end thanks to its story, which touches some very interesting themes. The game, however, is far from being a masterpiece that could appeal to a wider audience due to its simple gameplay mechanics, linearity and excessive similarity to its predecessor. A solid game and a must-have for fans of psychological horror stories, but not for everyone.
Layers of Fear 2 is a "sightseeing horror walking simulator" that focuses on different things than games like What Remains of Edith Finch. This majestic, atmospheric game offers players a unique and bold experience, but the best features can be seen in single scenes than in the entire title.

Layers of Fear 2's production is without peer, but the continuously frustrating design decisions confuse.
It certainly has its fair share of flaws, and anyone looking for a horror game that’s less linear and features more gameplay might be a bit disappointed by it, but Layers of Fear 2 is still worth experiencing at least once.
