The challenging structure, which may be seen as a negative by some, connects people to the game more. The pleasure you get when you complete a stage that you haven't tried over and over again is something not found in many games. If you are interested in platform games, take this game off your eyes. If you're not interested, this Ori and the Blind Forest can be a good alternative to get you started.

undefined. While I could pick apart some specific nagging problems in Ori and the Blind Forest, whether it's the combat or tiny platforming problems, my lasting memory of this recent replay and my previous Xbox One playthrough a few years ago is just the high moments. The bliss of exploring this world, combined with the deft storytelling and dazzling artwork, make for an enthralling adventure that stands tall as one of the modern classics of the Metroid-esque genre.
'Ori and the Blind Forest' isn't just a great platformer, it's a work of art. It oozes style and charm and has an accessible and touching story. Games like this don't come along every day. Despite its brevity, $20 is well worth the experience.
Games with outstanding aesthetics always run the risk of falling victim to the old "style over substance" criticism, but Ori and the Blind Forest supports its style with a constant stream of timeless, captivating substance.
This is a powerful experience that we expect will be remembered for a long time to come, and it's, without question, one of the best games available for the Xbox One. That's a big statement, we know, but Ori's got more than enough spirit to back it up.
Gorgeous, brutally difficult and utterly wonderful
There's nothing quite as rewarding as a good Metroidvania and Ori and the Blind Forest proves itself to be classified as one. Giant, sprawling landscapes hide tons of goodies just waiting to be collected once you've gained some new skills.
From the moment the game begins, to the moment the credits start rolling, it's obvious that Moon Studios were crafting this out of love. While most may play a second time to earn every achievement, many will just want to experience the fantastic presentation one more time.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a 2d platformer that sticks to its bread and butter. It's beautiful to watch and listen to and for the price you get a lot more than you pay for.
This is a beautiful, surprisingly poignant, and simply well-designed take on a familiar genre.
Ori and the Blind Forest may reinvent the wheel when it comes to gameplay, but it always aspires to do what it does best, and succeeds on almost every one of these fronts. Taking ques from the best titles in the genre, the best elements of the genre are present in this artistic, well-written and well-designed title. Wether you're a fan of the genre, want a challenging game or just want a well-refined emotional story, Ori and the Blind Forest has a little bit to offer everyone.
Ori and the Blind Forest excels in so many areas. The fantastic level design, the inventive abilities, the touching story, the wonderful score and of course those scintillating visuals all stack up for one hell of an experience. Demanding a place in your collection, Ori and the Blind Forest is the best game I've played this year.
Ori and the Blind Forest is an absolute success, a real little masterpiece as much in its dazzling aesthetics as in its gameplay adjusted to the millimeter. The very touching prologue which makes us plunge into this tears in our eyes quickly gives way to an action / adventure game masterfully led by Moon Studios, where the acquisition of each new power revives the Interest of more beautiful and where the ingenious and memorable sequences are linked tirelessly, from start to finish, without being able to let go of the joystick as the pleasure is great.
