Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon Reviews
The original Pokemon Sun & Moon is still readily available and popular. Releasing another version of this game doesn't feel like it adds anything to the Pokemon franchise as a whole, and just makes me want a new Pokemon game on my Switch all the more. It's still a very, very fine game, but as a product release, this one is quite disappointing from Nintendo.
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the great, wonderful entries into the Pokémon franchise that were released last year, but with more. Just to access that more, you'll need to play the entire game again. In the modern day, this sort of update could've, and probably should've, been released as a DLC update for owners of the original game, honestly. Nevertheless, if you've not played Pokémon Sun and Moon, you owe it to yourself to jump in with Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon.
Having reached what amounts to the "end game" of modern Pokemon titles,it becomes clear that Ultra Moon is easily the better experience when compared to the original jaunt through Alola. Nothing becomes worse, and there are enough upgrades to side stories and the addition of some new Pokemon to the game that it is still well-worth playing, even for those who have completed Sun and Moon already.
Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon doesn't deviate much from its predecessor, but makes enough changes to deliver an experience that is notably better.
A must-buy for any Alola first timer, but not-so-much for those already being Pokémon League Champions.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon are very good third-version games. They expand the story alongside as well as the post-game, and barring some not-ideal motion controls and a slow intro, there's very little to complain about. It may be the same game as last year with a bunch of new stuff on top, but considering this is one of Pokémon's finest generations yet, I have zero problem with more of a good thing.
The changes and new features in these mid-generation remakes crown Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon as the definitive modern Pokemon experience.
Ultra Sun and Moon feel like the definitive version of an already fantastic game. With plenty to do after the credits have rolled, and new content sprinkled across the story, this is a fitting swansong for Pokemon on the DS family.
If you already devoted a conspicuous amount of time on the previous game of the series, you'll have to be patient, and wait for the real fun to begin, since all the new (and good) stuff is carefully handed out bit by bit. Therefore, we recommend Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon only if you skipped the previous two titles. Or if you have a bone to pick with Necrozma!

A disappointing Follow-Up to the original Pokemon Sun and Moon. Not enough new content was added in Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon
The Pokémon Company have officially announced that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are the last mainline Pokémon games coming to Nintendo 3DS, so it’s fitting that they feel so fleshed out. While they’re far less ground-breaking than Pokémon Sun and Moon, they provide the definitive way of exploring Alola. If you’re hesitant about double dipping, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon might just have enough new content to get you hooked all over again.
If you missed out on the originals from last year, or if you're dying to revisit Alola, Pokémon Ultra Sun And Ultra Moon are must-haves.
Even for those who haven't experienced Pokemon fever first-hand, Ultra Sun and Moon still manage to convey the sense that they was lovingly-crafted for a highly-dedicated demographic. Everything from the availability of Z-Moves to the Pokemon Snap-esque photo function serves as a reminder that Ultra Sun is just as much for experienced players as it is for series newcomers, and additions like the ability to groom and heal Pokemon after battles presents a subtle touch that provides both utility to the player as well as a way to feel a deeper connection to the game's numerous pocket-sized companions.
Game Freak reinvented their wheel with Pokémon last year. This year they polished the hell out of it!
If you haven't played Sun and Moon, or any entry in the series in a while, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is a great place to pick up the series again.
Pok'mon returns for a 3DS victory lap in this generous, definitive retelling of the Alolan story.
A successful re-telling with interesting extras, whose full potential unfolds only towards the end of the game.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon don't change things dramatically, but for anyone who hasn't played the excellent Sun and Moon, this is now the definitive version.
Much more a refinement of what came before than a new entry, Pokémon Ultra Moon is very deceptive, as what begins as minor story and backdrop alterations becomes so much more as the game progresses. There is still a great sense of familiarity that may understandably disappoint for a full price purchase, but buyers will find what ultimately ends up as a title highlight for the whole series, and a tantalising glimpse into the future on Nintendo Switch.
Unless you played through both Sun and Moon extensively and have already collected every Legendary Pokemon, it's easy to recommend to any Pokemon fan.
