SoulCalibur VI is the actual proof that “legends will never die”, they just evolve into something else - in this case, something better.

Soul Calibur VI is a fantastic reboot that hearkens back to the golden age of fighting games where anyone could pick up a controller, get lost, and just -have fun-.

An excellent fighting game that has almost everything that we loved about the original Soul Calibur games, but still improves over it's formula.

Thanks to detailed improvements and extensive solo mode very good continuation of a Beat'Em Up classic. Soul Calibur is alive!

And finally Bandai Namco has came back with one of its most liked series and most-anticipated games. SoulCalibur VI is here... It is a mixture of all that we like about a good fighting game. The fights are simple, accessible, fast and deep, and the visuals are good enough to make you satisfied. The only boring part is the slow paced and uninteresting storytelling with a lot of texts and long conversations that a fighting game doesn't need too much. If not The Best, SoulCalibur VI is definitely one of the best fighting games of 2018.

The new mechanics of SOULCALIBUR VI don’t overshadow the true refinement done to the series. It’s easy to get lost in slamming buttons, but even easier to want to learn each character’s moves.

We are facing a great product, which has managed to reinvent itself to attract new players without giving up the essence that has made the franchise one of the most beloved of the genre. It has been done to pray, but the wait has been worth it.

I still remember sitting down for the first time to play Soulcalibur on the Dreamcast and hearing Jeff Manning's voice echo across the room. This is a larger-than-life series that deserves a lot of love and care from its creator: and with VI, it got it. The recent documentary that openly acknowledges the past faults of the series gives me hope that Bandai Namco is going to right the Soulcalibur ship.

Soul Calibur VI is a great fighting game. Warriors catalogue is a bit too conservative (just three new characters that weren´t in previous games), but we love the story and mission modes. Geralt de Rivia feels like the perfect guest character.

The six years waiting for a new Soulcalibur game have been worth it. This is fantastic combat with plenty of depth, and even the new Reversal Edge mechanic is a godsend.

For someone with little Soul Calibur experience before now, I feel that Soul Calibur VI can be a pretty good starting point for someone to the series.  The tutorial in Mission Mode will help you learn the basics and you can always look up more advanced moves and techniques for any character at almost any time.  Add in the Mission and Story modes and there's a lot to do beyond just fighting several random CPU opponents and calling it a day.

Soul Calibur VI has the heart and soul of what makes a great fighter great. However, Reversal Edge is a mixed bag, and some presentation elements lack visual investment. Regardless, Soul Calibur VI is the complete package, accommodating to newcomers and veterans alike.

Soulcalibur VI is a great way to bring back the franchise. There is a ton of content to be found and outside of a few omissions, the roster is great. Character creation leaves the door open for plenty of interesting designs.

SoulCalibur VI is a grand return to form for a fighting game series that's been overstuffed for decades. It's simple to play, tough to master, and incredibly fun. The best the series has been since SoulCalibur2, the game doesn't do much new. Instead, it adeptly refines something we've played before to deliver one of the most enjoyable fighting games in years.

Soulcalibur VI is a solid entry in the long-running fighting franchise. The new Reversal Edge mechanic gives everyone a chance at a comeback, with a balanced risk that their move may backfire on the player who invoked the move. A decent campaign is paired with a beefier custom story mode, to provide for dozens of hours of gameplay, even if most of the cutscenes are more visual novel than actual cutscene. Barebones online options may leave some players wanting more, but getting to the action is as quick as ever because of a sharp focus. Time will tell if these improvements can translate to better sales, but Soulcalibur VI is one game all fighting fans should pick up.

Leaving aside the fact that its a reboot from the series, Soulcalibur VI es a great fighting game that retains most of the elements that have made the franchise one of the best among the genre. Yes, it doesnt add many novelties to the gameplay formula and some modes lack some charm, but nevertheless, its an awesome game worth your money and time, more if you love fighting games.

SoulCalibur VI revisits the early years of the franchise with a wholly new re-imagining of the original SoulCalibur game for current-gen systems. The result is an excellent 3D fighter with a nice mix of modern gameplay as well as a good dose of nostalgia for longtime fans of the fighting series. Smarter AI and more offline modes would have been nice. Fluid gameplay and rock-solid mechanics, however, make this a great addition to the fighting game genre.

Back after a six year hiatus, SoulCalibur VI proves that the series has lost none of its sparkle. If this is the final SoulCalibur we ever see (and we sincerely hope it isn't), at least we can rest assured that the series went out with a bang rather than a clang.

Overall, the game does enough to slingshot the SoulCalibur series back to the top of the genre, to fight it out with the other franchises.
