Black Cat's intro is great, but the first DLC episode feels more like a first act than satisfying, standalone content.

The first Spider-Man DLC is short, but a great deal of fun thanks to a great story. It feels like the start of the story though and is not stand-alone, except for the side-missions. Those offer a change of pace and make the package worth it in the end.

The first episode of the three-part DLC The City That Never Sleeps is sure to entertain the players of the original game. Aside from the main story focusing on Black Cat, it also adds a couple of new side activities, all of that for one fair price. However, you'd be better off buying the entire DLC pack instead of individual episodes.

The Heist is fairly short, even with its new side missions, and though it does have some cool character building, it ultimately doesn't match up to the expectations set by the main game.

The Heist then is a packed DLC, kicking off with a terrific new story and leaving us desperately awaiting the next episode. There’s plenty to be getting on with and with a whole new story to tell, it’s been great to jump back into Insomniac’s New York and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

It's smaller and less different than you might hope, but The Heist is more Spider-Man and it's still a whole lot of fun. The addition of Black Cat lets the story make up for what the gameplay doesn't change.

As a DLC, The Heist can be considered a good title, though it could have been better. The Heist offers just enough to engage and keep the players thirsty for the next two DLCs.

Overall, Spider-Man: The Heist adds enough new content to justify its price. The story is short but sweet and, once you wrap up the main quest, you can unlock 3 new costumes that you can use in New Game+.

It's unreasonable to expect Marvel's Spider-Man The Heist to reinvent the wheel here, it's a DLC for a game that was remarkably popular, and many are clamouring for more. However, I don't think I'm the only person that will be a little disappointed at Marvel's Spider-Man playing it safe, and it's a prime example of how you can have too much of a good thing.

Spider-Man's first episode is fantastic in almost all the same ways that the main game is.

The Heist strikes a good balance. Offering a thrilling start to this exciting Season Pass, while giving us lots to look forward to in the coming weeks. Slight Street Crime fatigue aside, The Heist easily ranks up there with the best DLCs this year with its quality in narrative, generous offerings, and its ability to continue iterating on an already excellent game.

Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the best superhero games ever made so you can assume that a lot of gamers are looking forward to its first piece of DLC. Called The Heist this campaign starts the 3 part adventure in The City that Never Sleeps and it's everything one could hope for. Delivering the same solid Spider-Man experience the core campaign provided and ending with an enticing cliffhanger that will keep players yearning for the next part.

The Heist is a good bite-sized morsel of content that kept my attention throughout, and I'm excited to see where the rest of these chapters go. I just hope the Insomniac team can keep things interesting throughout.

The story is a great addition to the main game.

The ending of this first installment of the DLC certainly ends on a cliffhanger, leaving us excited for November's content. Whether you play it now or wait until all three DLCs are out, The Heist is definitely worth the price of admission and the four hours it takes to complete.

Though its vision might be restrained somewhat, The Heist nonetheless makes a compelling case for itself as a hugely satisfying and essential continuation of Marvel's Spider-Man.

After a great campaign, Spider-Man first DLC feels pretty underwhelming. Even if adds new challenges and the chance of getting every suit in the game (in case you couldn't get it on the main story), doesn't feel necessary as other story content you can find in single player games.

If you're looking for new Spider-Man content, this will definitely meet your standards despite it being part one of a three-part saga. It leaves you hanging as things get particularly interesting so this may be best experienced when all the DLCs are out by the end of 2018 but if you don't mind waiting a couple weeks, The Heist is a satisfying epilogue to the main story of Marvel's Spider-Man even with one annoying technical flaw.

For now, The Heist is a fun little way to spend more time with the delightful gameplay, characters, and world of Marvel's Spider-Man, but it certainly doesn't feel like a complete, satisfying expansion on its own.

Perhaps all three acts together will be a complete package worth a purchase, but this just feels like more of the same, except rushed out to meet an audience and lacking the unerring attention to detail that made the main campaign so special. Whilst Black Cat herself is pretty excellent, the story around her isn't one that is gripping, at least, not yet.
