My Time at Portia Reviews
Though the content and concept of My Time at Portia is sublime, having the potential to enslave your attention for months to come, the Switch port lacks the polish and love it so desperately deserves. Should quality of life fixes be implemented, this will certainly be worth sinking your time into. For now, not so much.

My Time at Portia wears its influences on its sleeve but fails to build both a compelling world and charming inhabitants to engage with when reaching for the same lofty heights. Its loop of resource gathering and intricate building is implemented well, but it lacks the charm to make it all cohesive enough to be alluring.
My Time at Portia is great at first, but it's as insanely stretched out as it is tedious and empty.
An interesting attempt to make a 3D Harvest Moon, that combines some of the best elements of Minecraft, but it lacks any real identity or new ideas of its own.
The world of Portia is full of promise but the time investment it requires makes it tough to recommend as is. A significant cut in crafting times across the board could go a long way toward making things feel more rewarding.
Long periods of waiting and repetitive tasks make this simulation hard to recommend, especially since your efforts only rarely pay off
My Time at Portia is a peaceful, beautiful life simulation that offers a calming experience, but little that pushes the boundaries of its genre. Simulation fans will find plenty to enjoy in this large, detailed world, but little to surprise them.
This genre is about pretty mundane work, but what makes it so wonderful is it distills that work down to the point that it feels effortless. Sadly, I ended up having to put more effort into My Time At Portia than I do with the actual work I do in real life.
My Time At Portia is a decent farming/life sim game with great crafting mechanics and painfully dull characters.
My Time at Portia is a simulation game that shows a commendable level of ambition and an immense world to explore and develop, with plenty of actions to perform all over. It does not fully live up to its potential, though, as it requires some technical optimization in order to fit better with the Nintendo Switch and its long loading times can put a strain on the player's patience.

My Time at Portia is a gorgeous game with solid crafting mechanics and a mysterious post-apocalyptic tale, but its intriguing story is buried beneath slow pacing and flimsy characters.
The daily routines of this beautifully designed crafting game are meditative, but the storyline can be laboured
My Time at Portia feels like it has a bounty of offerings, but there's not as much to the world as first appears.
A glacial pace and abundance of busywork make My Time At Portia a tough recommendation.
My Time at Portia forces players to figure out the game's features before they can truly appreciate them
As it stands it's is a ‘life sim' that could do with a little more of the former.
"COMBAT IS SOMEWHAT REMINISCENT OF ZELDA GAMES, AND WOULD BE ENJOYABLE WERE IT NOT PLAGUED WITH SEVERE FRAMERATE DROPS..."
My Life at Portia aspires to reach the heights of renown some other titles in this space have garnered, and on the surface it has pretty well all of the elements that it needs to do so...
With its charming setting and straightforward but pleasantly deep crafting system, it’s very easy to get sucked into and spend many pleasant hours in Portia, but those aiming to get through all of the story missions will likely find it overstaying its welcome.
