Take Us Back, the franchise finale of The Walking Dead, is a serviceable episode to end the series, and in a way, Telltale Games in general. While it has the problem of falling into its familiar issues at times, the sendoff of Clementine and her friends is one that will be remembered for years to come.

A stirring, if conservative conclusion to Telltale's The Walking Dead, 'Still Not Bitten' provides fans with a gritty and grisly closer with an ending that hints at what might have been.

Players who have been with the Clementine character from the start will more than likely be satisfied with how this finale unfolds.

The Walking Dead: The Last Season leaves us with contradictory sentiments. In general, the episode concludes Clementine's parable in a rather dignified manner, although some scenes are really not very inspired. If you overlook the sequences of the first part of the episode, you arrive at an ending that has its undoubtedly exciting moments, and finds in the relationship between the girl and AJ her highest point.

Clementine and AJ's - and by extension, the player's - story comes to a fitting end here, as the creative efforts of Skybound and Telltale bring the story of the beloved series to its satisfying, largely open-ended conclusion. A plethora of emotional punches, varied and surprisingly engaging gameplay - even if the frame rate chugs - accompany wonderful music and impressive cinematography. Despite a couple of narrative hiccups, with one or two scenes that would have benefitted from some retooling, the conclusion to Telltale's most beloved series is not just good, it's satisfying.

This last episode of The Walking Dead is certainly not perfect but it brings a conclusion - which was not sure a few months ago - to the series. And it still can be liked by those who truly love the characters, even if it has only a few surprises in store. Nevertheless, this opportunity to say goodbye to Clementine - in extension to the whole Telltale Games formula - is truly appreciable. We'll miss her for sure.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season reaches its last episode, and provides a neat if not entirely satisfying conclusion to Clementine's story.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season - Episode 4 Take Us Back has a lot of highs and lows. With organic situations caused by the player's decisions mixed with questionable situations. It won't please everyone but Take Us Back but provides a sufficient conclusion to Clementine's long journey.

The Walking Dead finishes much as it began, with believable characters making heartbreaking choices, interspersed with flounderingly inept, QTE-laden attempts at action.

Strictly speaking, you don't need a review to tell you whether to play the final episode in the fourth season of a franchise. This far down the line, you're already on board, or you aren't. I think Take Us Back's writing will find some division in the community, regardless of your own personal outcome.

As a singular episode, it’s fine. But in the grander scheme of wrapping up a six-year storyline and four-episode arc, it’s also just fine and that middle of the road result is a bit of a disappointment.

A glaring (and boring) example of how you shouldn't finish a much loved and longtime series.

An action-packed, if anticlimactic, close to Clementine's journey.
