Blasphemous Reviews
From first glance during a Direct there was no question that Blasphemous, visually, was something pretty special...
If you can tolerate the super-annoying instant death traps and are a Metroidvania fan then I highly recommend Blasphemous.
I liked Blasphemous a lot, it is a well designed Metroidvania game (more Castlevania than Metroid) without the complexities of many modern titles. it has Castlevania's design philosophy and Dark Souls mechanics while creating a sorrowful world of its own. moment to moment gameplay is not as tight as Castlevania though.

Blasphemous is hands down one of my favourite games of 2019.
For an action-adventure title, inaccurate hit-boxes and level-design that's even slightly off can be a deal-breaker. Rather than get dragged down by its deficiencies, Blasphemous rises above to create a uniquely engaging experience.
If you love SNES platformers and aren't concerned by the possibility of an angry god pressing its "smite" button to rain lightning upon you, Blasphemous is simply a must-play.
There are better ways to get rid of your sins (and spend more quality time). Console version has some technical bugs that undermines the otherwise brilliant experience.

The aesthetic is incredible, and the map design of Cvstodia is solid and engaging. Unfortunately the game is too bogged down with a high difficulty level that is more tedious than challenging, dragging the entire experience down into something I can hardly bring myself to play. Blasphemous is a beautiful game that I wish I could enjoy more, but the extremely high difficulty of combat and platforming simply does not mesh well with the amount of exploration and backtracking needed from a world as expansive as this one.
Blasphemous could have been even a more ambitious title if its platforming parts was less annoying, but if you give it time, it will give you back a wonderful, entertaining experience. If you are a fan of Metroidvania or Dark Fantasies, then Blasphemous is definitely the one for you.

Blasphemous is an amazing metroidvania which you've always looking for. Despite some platforming issues and random Weak enemies Spawns, any other elements in Blasphemous is in the right place. If you want to play a challenging metroidvania with unique art style, then Blasphemous is one of the best options you have,

Blasphemous Is A Title With Appealing Atmosphere And Enjoyable Gameplay. Although Some Flaws In Platforming, Storytelling, And Other Aspects Damages The Experience To Some Extend But Still The Game Is An Amusing Title For Metroidvania Fans

One thing that I would have liked to see in Blasphemous is a full-fledged fast traveling system, instead of the barebone one that we actually get. Still, Blasphemous is clearly a must-play title for those who love Souls-like mysteries and gameplay mechanics, just don't go in expecting a masterpiece.
If you're into challenging action platformer games, Blasphemous is as good as the next. It isn't perfect or revolutionary, but it doesn't have to be. Its lore and visual direction are disturbingly beautiful and craft an interesting and distinct world. Great boss fights and an enjoyable and challenging combat system ensures that fans of the genre will have enough to sink their teeth into and enjoy.
Blasphemous is an admirable piece of art. It does the whole metroidvania thing in a much less tedious way than most indie games do these days, and is bolstered by its distinct flavour and style.
A brilliantly realized, brutal and bloody Metroidvania that is the next best thing to reading up on Catholic Martyrs while you whip yourself with a barbed cat-o-nine-tails.
Blasphemous takes a few well trodden genres and mashes them into something that is fun, rewarding and downright beautiful. Its story, themes and macabre nature will not suit everyone but I could not get enough of it. Its difficulty is near-perfect, not too hard but enough of a challenge to please most players. Metroidvania fans, Souls-like fans and gamers who want a challenge will revel in this games gorgeously crafted world. Its a brilliantly crafted experience that needs to be played.
Praise be to Blasphemous, for it's an impressive game that has truly joined together the peanut-butter-and-chocolate-style union that is souls-likes and metroidvania games.
Blasphemous is a mostly solid action platformer. Beautiful yet grotesque artwork and fun moment-to-moment gameplay is held back by a few instances of badly flawed level design and some questionable boss mechanics. If you can get past the flaws there's a lot to enjoy here for fans of platformers and for lore hounds that enjoy teasing out meaning from a cryptic story.
Blasphemous is a solid, beautifully haunting metroidvania. Some rough spots prevent it to really shine but it's still a great experience if the theme interests you.
