Far Cry 4 Reviews
Choice is the driving theme in Far Cry 5, a game which opts to venture out of its comfort zone while fine-tuning every aspect of what makes the series so great. It's incredibly relevant, Montana is a gorgeous slice of new terrain that is fraught with peril and the road ahead that Far Cry Arcade represents is exciting to say the least. Simply put, the fifth numbered chapter in Ubisoft's series of madness, freedom and exploration is Far Cry perfected.
Far Cry 4 may just be more of the same from Far Cry 3, but, in the best possible way. Ubisoft took what was great about the third game, and improved it in almost every way, making this one of the most refreshing, fun and addictive open-world titles available. With solid fundamental mechanics, a superb open gameworld, multiplayer to come back for, and some fantastic DLC, this psychotic voyage through a deadly paradise is worth setting a course for.
You'll struggle to find a game available now that looks or feels as immersive or as beautiful as Far Cry 4. And it's only games like Assassin's Creed Unity or Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim that can match it in terms of breadth of gameplay. It just feels like the story lets it down in places. Make choices count and give the player real power. Don't just dangle the carrot.
As adventure park, Far Cry 4 performs admirably well. There are ample opportunities and excuses to do within its bounds whatever it is you want to do. The particular darkness of its narrative might be a bit more basic cable than HBO, but there are other parks if that's not your sort of thing. This is the kind of place where even your enemies love you, as long as you say yes to everything. That's the price of admission. Well, that and $60.
Far Cry 4 trades tropical islands for mountains, but otherwise, it offers pretty much the same great shooter experience as its predecessor.
A disappointing sequel in many ways but a game of such stark beauty and manic fun it is hard to write off entirely.
Far Cry is a game that you can start up and play for both a short amount of time and for long, gaming sessions. There is just absolutely so much to do in the game. If you are looking for an open world game from a FPS perspective and have yet to try the Far Cry series, you definitely need to check this out.
For sheer daft mayhem, Far Cry 4 is now the action game to beat.
Far Cry 4 doesn't do much to differentiate itself from its predecessor, but it doesn't necessarily have to.
It may just be Far Cry 3 with a Himalayan skin and a more believable story but Far Cry 4 is a game you'll struggle to put down. Whether you're battling through story missions, liberating outposts or riding elephants into battle it is one of the best current-gen games out there.
A fine evolution of the Far Cry 3 formula, and an improvement in every way, but all without that same wow factor.
Just don't expect any different results
A mother's dying wish ends up with you helping a rebellion to overthrow an evil tyrant. Typical.
As I walk away from Far Cry 4, I can safely say that it's one of only a handful of games from the last year that I truly felt earned all of the time I dedicated

Though lazily framed and under-scripted, Far Cry 4 is a gorgeous, systems-oriented playground that provides endless hours of entertainment. And exploding elephants.
It looks fantastic - the gun play, whilst different from your standard Call of Duty fare, is solid, the open world is huge, bursting with life and activities to undertake plus they've finally realised what makes Far Cry so great - freedom to blow stuff up as you please. Technically fantastic, a joy to play for the most part and an awful lot of game for your money.
Far Cry 4, for all the action it includes, for all the things it lets you do, proves woefully unengaged.
You'll find a lot to love in Far Cry 4 if you're willing to sink a lot of time into exploring every corner of Kyrat.
Like jazz, open-world games promise the bliss of structured randomness. Developers load up games with multiple systems – traffic, pedestrians, wildlife, etc. – which players probe to create unique moments. Ubisoft's Far Cry series marries this open-world game design to a caricature of guerrilla warfare, the improvisational aspect of which fits well with the player's need to make the best of whatever is in his or her toolset.
