The Escapists 2 is a worthy successor to the highly popular The Escapists. The improvements to the overall look, feel, and sounds of the original make this one very much worth picking up.

When it comes to movements and fluidity, nothing to say is really very good; the only "flaw" is perhaps the difficulty in using mouse and keyboard and, in this regard, even on PC we recommend that you take advantage of the pad. For the rest there are really good improvements compared to the first chapter, a lot of limitations less and better care of the mechanics and the technical level. Really good also the introduction of the multiplayer that gives that extra touch to the game, though perhaps, could have been slightly more cautious, especially in Versus mode. Generally, however, a great job, you must buy if you like this genre, even in relation to the low sale price!

Once past the inital hurdle of learning the game and its myriad intricacies, The Escapists 2 offers a solid prison break vibe that lets you explore and try out multiple grand (or subtle!) escape plans in a solid variety of prisons. The addition of a fun multiplayer experience, much requested by fans of the original, is icing on the cake.

The Escapists 2 is not going to appeal to a large audience, but for those that fit the niche, they will most definitely enjoy this. Simulator fans and anyone that favours heavy puzzle elements in their games will be more than happy with what it has to offer. It can be hard to figure out what needs to be done, or how next to proceed, but it will definitely scratch the itch for puzzle aficionados.

The Escapists 2 offers a unique sandbox prison escape experience, but it may be a little overwhelming for some players.

The Escapists 2 brings a very conservative formula. The most important improvement is the multiplayer mode, which works perfectly and masks the mistakes of this game.

Escaping from a prison sounds like a great concept, but half the time The Escapists 2 is just a time management game. A sandbox without much content.

Plenty to discover, but tedium sets in quickly, particularly when faced with an abrupt loss of progress

The Escapists 2 is everything the first game was and more. Give it some time and it won't be long before its claws have sunk in and you're hooked.

The Escapists 2 is a game that has added a lot to the formula that gave its predecessor success, while managing to maintain its core identity. If you played the original Escapists then getting the sequel is a no brainer, while if you fancy taking on a generally very challenging game where you have to rely on your own wits then The Escapists 2 may be just what you're looking for. There will be times when you get a little frustrated when you lose an item through messing with the wrong guards or a plan going wrong, but when you finally escape you'll feel elation as you'll love it when your plan comes together.

While The Escapists 2 appears to be a bombastic, fun loving adventure through misfortune and triumph, it turns out to be mostly a long and patient game of planning, and luck.

What The Escapists 2 does do is improve its look, expand your options for escape, and throws in a hilarious multiplayer. What The Escapists 2 does not do is make itself significantly more accessible and forgiving. If that put you off the first time, there's little to convince you to play the sequel, but for fans, this is a rather pleasant upgrade.

The Escapists 2 is a relatively safe sequel expanding on the mechanics of prison escape from the first game, while still retaining its difficulty curve.

The Escapists 2 is an ingenious and sometimes frustrating romp with a rewarding experience that's often just out of reach. A follow-up to 2015's deliciously popular prison-escape simulator, The Escapists 2 stays true to fans with more freedom and level variety but fails to endear detractors.

The Escapists 2 is still disturbed and chaotic, it blackmails thyself by benefiting the players as far as possible and violates itself at the core, though it has many improvements compared to the first title thus, offering an enhanced experience. So if you're a fan of the series and love the concept of escaping a prison, do not miss The Escapists 2.

The Escapists 2 wraps superb gameplay up with a retro art style and energetic soundtrack to deliver an addicting, tense, and challenging prison escape simulator that unfortunately is marred by a lack of polish and some overwhelming tendencies in the latter stages of levels. Nevertheless, it's one of the best new indie games on the market.
