Those who are familiar with it have the chance to enjoy this rather short and linear adventure once again, even if its motion controls feel like they could use some improvement. Thanks to Luigi's very own personality and character and to how accessible the overall experience is, players new and seasoned can (re)live this contemporary Nintendo classic, now on a handheld double screen format.

Although its release on 3DS doesn't provide much new content, Luigi's Mansion is clearly a classic. Its clever level design and fun characters certainly hold up after 17 years, even if the graphics may not. This release seems best suited for those new to the game, but it can be enjoyed by all Luigi fans.

Luigi's Mansion remains the classic it always was, but it's little more than 3DS life-support.

Luigi's Mansion 3DS is a faithful and impressive remake of the GameCube classic, just don't expect much more than that.

Luigi's Mansion for the 3DS isn't a perfect game, but it provides plenty of fun for a decent price. The main issues with the game boils down to the controls and how it impacts the rest of the experience, but at least it looks good and has plenty of bonus content with the port.

It wasn't simple to bring a gamecube title to a portable console, and at the end of its life, but Luigi's Mansion on 3DS has something to tell on this generation of console. Some problems of the original game remain in the porting process, especially backtracking and clunky controls, but they don't ruin the experience with the game.

With so many unique ideas, it's amazing how much Nintendo got right with this imaginative new franchise when it debuted back in 2001. While the controls aren't the best on the 3DS (a proper second analog stick would do quite nicely), the game still holds plenty of charm.

Really, it is the same GameCube game with a sprinkling of flourishes here and there for the 3DS.

Short but sweet perfectly sums up Luigi's haunted quest. Very little has changed in the transition from GameCube to 3DS, except for slightly inferior visuals and way worse controls...unless using the Circle Pad Pro. With the added benefit of the attachment, Luigi's Mansion plays exceptionally well, and is an enjoyable, if easy, romp through the spooky mansion that really kicked off Luigi's gaming career.

Though it isn’t the Switch remake many had hoped for, Grezzo delivers a solid and well-polished 3DS port. While it would have been great to see the Hidden Mansion alter its content with new areas unlocked, Luigi’s Mansion remains best as a spooky near-episodic adventure, packed full of fun, with moments of humour, mischief and magic. If you enjoyed the original, there’s no way you’d miss this.

Returning to the haunted estate after seventeen years should feel outdated, but Luigi´s Mansion deserves its rightful remake on the Nintendo 3DS. Not one ounce of charme has been lost in the faithful handheld port as Luigi screams and tumbles through his spooky adventure. With some minor control issues aside, the gameplay is still as it was back in the day.

Luigi's Mansion has been succesfully transfered to the 3DS. This old GameCube title has a great gameplay feeling, graphically however it is a bit dated and stiff.

The re-release of Luigi’s Mansion provides the perfect platform for fans who’re looking to re-engage with the series before the tentatively titled “Luigi’s Mansion 3” releases on the Nintendo Switch next year. It was also a fantastic throwback to the early 2000s for a 30-year-old kid who made the error of straying from the path of N, and I relished every second playing this GameCube classic and will continue to cherish the series as a Luigi diehard. All I can say is put your money where your mouth is, and back the guy in green!
