Castlevania Anniversary Collection Reviews
Konami Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a solid release, even without the best of the bunch, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Getting authentic ports of the classic series, while adding some small save features, and graphical options help to sell the package. The bonus book might be the best part of it, though, so that's something to look forward to if you're going to purchase it.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection always looked on-point when the full game list was announced, but I'm surprised at how great the extras are and how functional it is. More of this please, Konami.
A surprisingly thorough compilation of 8 and 16-bit Castlevanias, that illustrates the early history of one of gaming's most influential franchises.
With 8 classic games from an iconic series, Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a must-play compilation for any gamer whether you're a retro junkie or you simply want to explore the roots of gaming.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a really fantastic loveletter to the Classicvania era of the series, including seven fantastic games (and one bad one) emulated well for a new generation.
A great compilation of Castlevania games, among the best you can find. If you prefer the classic gameplay over the 'metroidvania' style, you'll want to "bite".

As retro collections go, Castlevania Anniversary Collection doesn’t impress with its features, but the games themselves pick up the slack. Buy this, and you’ll be in classic vampire-killing heaven.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a rock solid collection of (some) great old school games. Anyway, the lack of real extra features, apart from the ebook, the absence of a masterpiece as Rondo of Blood and some odd choices by Konami make the collection feel a little bit pedantic.

Except for a little oversensitive controls in the titles for the NES, the Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a perfect example on how to deliver with a collection a perfect profile of a series and its first generation and delivers big time with is selection of games, options and bonuscontent. Fans of videogaming history, timeless plattformers and the Castlevania series won`t get around the Anniversary Collection.

The Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a fine assortment of games, presented in a way that I hope more developers mimic when compiling collections of classic games. The bonus book that is included with the game is probably one of the neatest digital books I have ever seen. The only issues I had with the game was the very little work put into porting the games themselves, as they came off as simple ROMs within an emulator. Regardless of how they’ve been placed upon modern systems, the games are just as hard as they used to be and they’re sure to challenge old and new gamers, even with save states. Relive this classic franchise today and pick up both this and the Castlevania Requiem: Symphony of the Night & Rondo of Blood collections today.
Near perfect ports of classic Dracula-slaying action with some barebones features make this collection a must-buy
Despite the sheer volume of solid gold hits in the series, Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a somewhat mixed bag from Konami, with stone-cold classics sharing the spotlight with a couple of undead clunkers that really should have remained dead and buried.
The eight retro games in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection focus on the early traditional platforming era from 1987 to 1994, and quality is assured in the four main numerical entries in the series.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection is an excellent, high quality retro collection. It is of a collection where too many of the games don't hold enough value beyond their nostalgia, and it's lacking titles I would have considered to be key. However, with a great set of features, and plenty of classic dark fantasy platforming, this package is a useful reminder of just how prestigious the entire franchise really is.
If you are a fan of the Castlevania series, or just looking to experience the early games for the first time, this is the perfect opportunity to own some of the best titles of that era.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection is a true gift for the long-running series :with eight great games to give the players a global look at what made those games classics. With modern tools like quick saves and decent filters, any fan of the Belmont family should here find a good reason to get back the old whip.

A few of the titles don't hold up completely, but every part of this collection is worth at least trying. Even though the first Castlevania came six years after their biggest hit, I have to believe Devo had the Belmont family in mind all along. When a good time turns around, you must whip it, and the Castlevania Anniversary Collection has whips and good times in spades.
Another Anniversary Collection which, like the Arcade one released a short time ago, leaves a bitter taste for the choices made by Konami in both quantitative and qualitative terms.

This is a much better way to pay homage to a glorious franchise than the Classics Arcade Collection of some weeks ago: download it if you love Castlevania or intend to discover the series for the first time.
