Sonic Mania Plus Reviews
Sonic Mania Plus is probably what fans of Sonic Mania want, which was probably also what fans of old Sonic games wanted.
As an upgrade to the excellent Sonic Mania, Sonic Mania Plus/Encore offers a pair of good new characters but underwhelms with new modes and content.
A good upgrade to Sonic Mania, but nowhere near as essential as the original game. Support the studio, enjoy the new characters, but also realize how outstanding the original game was.
Sonic Mania Plus offers a number of quality of life improvements, but the Encore Mode features some questionable design decisions. Those looking for more Sonic could do far worse than this title, but don't expect the extras to live up to the lofty standards set by Mania Mode.
If you enjoyed the original Sonic Mania, this Plus release should be an easy sell as it provides new characters and ways to play the game.
Sonic Mania Plus isn’t a vast improvement on Sonic Mania, but given the quality of Sonic Mania, we’ll let that slide. Encore mode extends and expands the appeal – and the challenge – of one of the hedgehog’s finest outings, while the new characters and enhanced Competition mode are fun.
If you're a hardcore fan of the original, Sonic Mania Plus is an easy buy. It adds on neatly onto your original game (no need to start all over), and will extend your playtime at least another few hours if not more.
Whether you're new to the game or coming back for more, Sonic Mania Plus is worth your time and attention.
For five bucks as a digital upgrade all of these Sonic Mania Plus additions are a no-brainer. Sure, encore and maybe the multiplayer updates would have been added as free DLC in some circles, but the new characters and the package as a whole props up one of the best platformers of 2017 for a more than reasonable price.
For the rest, few negatives can be noticed about Sonic Mania Plus. If you have a little bit of a warm heart for the hedgehog and aren't averse to a bite of your nostalgia, you should give Sonic Mania Plus a chance. 30 euros is not much for such a game and it looks nice in the closet.

Sonic Mania Plus is one of the best Sonic games. It's a great 2D retro style platform game that could attract some new players as well and any platformer fan should definitely try it.

Sonic Mania is a re-imagination of what made the original 90s classics so enjoyable. It introduces new abilities, characters, levels and many other features to make this one of the freshest takes on a Sonic game in decades.
Sonic Mania Plus took a well-made game and made it even better, with two interesting new characters and remixed levels. The new content seems a little more geared for the superfan rather than the newcomer, which at the end of the day, is totally okay because whether you bought Mania last year or you're only just getting to it now, it is still worth checking out. It still feels very weird to say that I like playing as Ray more than playing as Sonic because it's so much fun flying around levels as a flying squirrel.
Enhanced version of the original Sonic Mania is great. Just buy and play!

Sonic Mania is a celebration of everything that made Sonic the Hedgehog such an enduring, beloved character. Plus adds to that, making one of the best Sonic games in decades even better.
Sonic Mania Plus brilliantly offers a definitive edition of what remains the best adventure of the blue hedgehog of the last 20 years, the title is a Must-have for both fans and newcomers.

Sonic Mania Plus is an essential upgrade if you already own and enjoy the original version of the game. Newcomers should also give this updated offering a look, as it captures what made classic Sonic uniquely appealing, while fixing some of the base game's shortcomings. Sonic Mania Plus still has a few lingering issues, but, overall, this heartfelt hedgehog homage has been honed to the next level.
Simply put, even if you've never played a Sonic game, you'll still have a ton of fun within the exciting world of Sonic Mania Plus.
A 'complete edition' pack that only include one new DLC with two characters and one game mode. It may not look like much, and ifg¡ you already have the digital version of the game you don't need to buy this Plus edition... But if you haven't played this superb platformer yet or you are a hardcore Sonic fan you have to have it.

Sonic Mania is the Sonic game we've been waiting for years, the one we're likely to play for years. The bedtime fairy tale with a happy ending that we would like to hear told before bed. A tribute to the original capable of taking every single bit from the original cartridge and creating something capable of making us relive the same emotions of the past when the blue hedgehogs began to make the plumbers dressed in red tremble for the first time.
